I graduated and had appliedto BA in what was the the end of the resesstion, with no joy. Started my PPL and then whent on to a long self improver route which saw me as a flying instructor teaching RAF FS and PPL's. Then did IR and MCC and waited for a job, now have just over 1000 hrs having started on the dornier last month.
Don't remember the name stimpy, has been a long time though, what was his full name ?

I knew a stimpy on ADSTAUAS, also 94 entry. At least that's what I called him. He recently took a whipper from a Hawk, but bounced to a safe landing.

Anyone know what Stu or Jude of ADSTAUAS might be up to?

I know an ex-ADStA guy who left a Hawk in unpleasant circumstances not so long ago, but didn't realise he was called Stimpy; unless we're thinking of different people?

I also know of an ex-ADStA Jude who recently popped up at Leuchars as an F/L medic, is that who you're thinking of?

I'm a current ADStAUAS member, in my final year now (97 entry) so I might have faint memories of the 93-94 entry guys.

I was in ELUAS from 1994-1996. Didn't go into the air force but became a flying instructor back in Edinburgh, and am due to start on the Dash 8 in April. I did keep in touch with a few people but lost touch recently.

Did you join in the same entry as Frenchie and Rimmer, if so do you mind if I ask your first name .

No I went in the following year, I think both Frenchie and Rimmer went into the air force in about 1997.

I was in the same year as V & Helen, I am sure you will recall them if you were around then. Who's year were you in? -

I joined in Jan 1993 with - Paula W., Becci McB, Noodles & Fraz.

I didn't realise Frenchie actually joined the crabs, I did a summer attachment with him in Kinloss which was interesting. I bumped into Rimmer when he was passing through Culdrose last year.

Maybe Frenchie didn't join, but I had an incling he had. Paula went to BA on the cadetship along with Craig Bell, I think they are both on 737 I know Paula certainly was. Becky McB joined the crabs as a engineer, Fraz joined and I think noodles did. In fact it seems most people did - how about you. To be truthful the UAS put me off, I thought a lot of members were very full of themselves and pretty arrogant (not everyone, in fact there were a few very good people) talking of one did you know Jess married John Sheldon about 3 years ago !.

There was loads of scandal about the time I left, all kinds of affairs going on with the instructors, of course I am too diplomatic to put it over PRUNE. Were you still there when Steve Leggot took over from NIgel May.

Are you looking into going into the airlines, although I presume you are in the RAF as you mention Culdrose.

Just found your topic. I guess we were in the same year, as I joined ELUAS Jan 93 too. Reading these posts brings back a few memories...

I've bumped into a few ex-ELUAS along the way.....

Andy Robertson (instructor, went to fly helicopters i Hong Kong i think) is back in Scotland. I ran into him in Edinburgh Airport where he was off flying the Highlands and Islands for a BA franchise.

Andy Robson (one year ahead of us) is working for BA having joined on their graduate programme and last I saw of him he was off to Grenada on a six month management post.

I also met Bainsey in a pub in Oxford - I believe he's flying for the Navy. I met Adam in Oxford too - he was over from Brize Norton. Craig Bell and Snel both fly for BA out of Heathrow, Craig on the 737 and Snel on the Airbus. Becci is stationed at Lossie.

That's about all the news I can remember at the mo.

Anyway EGDR, you haven't mentioned what you are up to now. You must still be into flying in some way, otherwise you wouldn't be on pprune right?
