Hi every body,

Just wondering about something I heard a while back. It involves a ferry pilot flying a Citation solo across the pond, he is doing just fine until he needs to go to the toilet As he gets out of his seat with the a/c on auto and walks to the back of the plane he hits a little unexpected turbulence which he thinks nothing of, but when he comes out of the toilet he finds to his horror that the flight deck door has slammed shut and locked! He then (probably in a panic) somehow and over quit a large amount of time manages to break down the door!!!

Any body heard similar, I have a bet with a friend that this could never happen!

AFAIK, the only Citation aircraft approved for single pilot operations are the 500/525 series. They dont have cockpit doors :)

mutt,
i know that's the case for commercial operations, but as this would have been a "private, non revenue" flight, would the same rules apply. ?

BoeingBoy1

Are you talking about the number of crew or the cockpit door???

I dont know of any Citations operated with less than one crew :) :) :)

I think that you will also find that the "locked out of the cockpit story" is one of aviations urban legends.
