As you obviously can't read (see our website) you are the weakest link; goodbye!

Not too easy to find on the search engines (but as I run a couple of web sites myself, I know that's real hard work for the webmaster :)) is http://www.celticairways.com/
The home page has over 16,000 hits so far. (So somebody's finding it ;))
Whilst wishing The Guvnor every success, I have to agree that April is fast approaching and, with no announcement yet regarding approvals (and the purchase of the existing airline - see web site) I suspect that a bit of "slip" may be creeping in here. See my posting below confirming that I can't read!
However, the fares offered are very attractive, especially the "Discount Clansman" (er - do that mean Economy mate http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/confused.gif )
Love the descision to go with the "Caledonian" and "Clansman" identity as it was tragic that this "image" got swallowed up 14 years ago when "Nigel" moved into LGW
"Good Luck Guvnor" (and everyone else committed to the project) - as there's no plans (yet) to buy one of the 1011 sims that I built 20 years ago, I can safely state that I have no connection with the project http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smokin.gif

ExSimGuy - as it says on the home page, April 2002. As with Blue Fox etc, it always seems to take much longer to do these things in reality than it appears on paper!
Which L10 sims did you build - CAE or Link Miles?

The website clearly states that the project will not materialise until April 2002 'due to delays in financing of the project' - does this mean the sponsored walk was postponed because of the snow, or nobody has returned their forms?

I'm back again to ponder another one.
On the economics page you give a clear costing of a 4 hour/2000 nm sector using the L1011 -v- its rivals.
For this trip you give the seat cost as $101.15 per seat. So how come the return trip from LAX to PIK is only a maximum of $667 return? Have you got the SPTE (Scottish Passenger Transport Executive)to provide a subsidy, or is there a new short route to the US - either that or everyone must be paying full whack, because the discount fare ($360) must be one hell of a loss.
Either that or you must have some exotic cargo to shift!
Without wishing to see ' business sensitive info.' can you explain how this will atay afloat? http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/confused.gif

so guv, you'll just keep on delaying it then?delaying year by year?i guess that's one way of doing it.

I feel a right Walley! 2002 is what it says on the web site which, by the way, I have edited on my post above so that it should now work :)
Spot on Guv, knowing the part of the world that I come from, you can probably guess it was the sims made at Lancing British Rail Carriage Works ;)

On the counter front, with thecounter.com you can select your start figure, so is it really 16000 visiors?

wa,
Euro Celtic Operating out of Luton now
Celtic West Operating out of Exeter now
Celtic Airways Operating out of Teeside/ Plymouth Mid May 2001
I think you mean
Caledonian Wings Operating out of Prestwick April 2002
Please, if you want to have a go at someone trying to set up an airline, at least get the airline’s name right. :)

But where is the Plymouth Celtic Airways
Are they now starting flights in mid May, as it was to be at the start of April?
There have been several rumours, but are they really going to use ex Brymon Dash 8's?
Have they applied for/gained a licence yet?
Are they developing a website;if so where?
Any more information? :)

G-SKIP - quite right, you can start the counter wherever you want. There have been around 13,000 unique visitors, of which 3,000 have been repeats; giving the 16,000 figure.
Anti Skid On - the same way as everyone else. You make mega profits on J class and on full Y; the discounted Y fares are below cost (but capacity limited so that the losses on them are limited). There are fairly standard ratios employed - read one of Rigas Donanis' books for more information on yield management!
ExSimGuy - strangely enough, I did (briefly, in 1988) own an L1011-500 sim that was built by Link for Pan Am; this was sold by United to the company I had at the time (JetSimulation Flight Training) and sold on to a consortium consisting of ATA, LTU and BWIA. Last I heard, it's still at the Pan Am Academy in MIA.
Who?

Ha, ha, ha.
I thought the only simulator you owned was FS98. BTW why the delays in getting your virtual airline up and away? Did the newspaper articles damage your credability at all?

Perhaps this is what becomes of a warm L1011
from the 31st December 2000 of the Midlands
paper, the Sunday Mercury:
A GBP 1 Million eaterie converted from a former passenger jet will begin to take shape at the end of January.
The TriStar plane will be turned into a trendy restaurant, complete with the original cockpit, overhead luggage compartments - and the cramped aircraft toilets.
Currently stored at a private airfield, it will be broken into 30 sections and transported by lorry to its new home in Derby.
Perhaps the Guv will have a chain like McDonalds, with dead L1011's all over the UK (like the one's recently spotted in the Mojave!)

Before too many stones are cast.
Lets see if Blue Fox
Newlines
or Kiss Air start on time if at all.
As for the Yield Management issue. The Guv's dead right How do you think us Charter guys can sell Florida at £99. However if you don't manage it properly and miss judge the market, you become extinct just like Excalibur very quickly. Guv' you will need top Yield managers and Sales & Marketing guys as I'm sure you know.
