Please don't take this as gospel, but it would not surprise me......

Over the last five years the NTSB has been covertly funding a project with U.S. Auto makers whereby the automakers have been installing "black
boxes" in all four-wheel drive pick up trucks they have manufactured. This was to determine, in fatal accidents, the circumstances in the last 15
seconds before the crash. They were surprised in 42 of the 50 states the last words of the drivers in 61.2% of the fatal crashes were, "OH SH@T!"
Only the states of Arkansas, West Virginia, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, and Tennessee were different, where over 89.3%
of the final words were, "Hold my beer and watch this."

No doubt in Newfoundland the comments were evenly split between "What's that tractor trailer doing" and "Moose!!"

Reminds me of the Far Side cartoon ...

"Say, Harry, what's that mountain goat doing up in these clouds?"

During a course I was on we went through a whole pile of voice recorder readouts. My favourite was the [ex-Marine corps] Captain who said "Oh Dear!" as the aircraft went off the end of the runway into the harbour. Really.

Then there was the F/O who lost it at rotation. His last words were "You have control!" <img src="eek.gif" border="0">
