Some years ago, Pepsi Cola had something called Pepsi points. On the can or in the box, would be points that you could collect and get jackets, sunglasses, CD's and such.
If you did not drink enough Pepsi to accumulate the points, you could also buy them for ten cents a piece and get the stuff that way.

Well, in the commercial they ran on TV the ultimate price was a Harrier Jumpjet, it required 7 million points. They show a teenager taking the A/C to school and the he says: "It sure beats the bus".

Well, lo and behold, some young man actually managed to gather enough points to claim said jet. That was the last I heard of it, but here is the rest of the story, needless to say it went to court, after all, it was here in the US.

...the tongue-in-cheek attitude of the commercial would not cause a reasonable person to conclude that a soft drink company would be giving away fighter planes as part of a promotion. ....

I wholeheartedly agree with you Diesel8, only in America. :)

Have a good one, Dave.

And (for no points at all) guess whose pockets the $700,008.50 ended up in....

A guy in Tulsa has two of them, one from Wittering and flyable and the other from Halton and fixable. He also has a British Air Force Chief to fix the things. There are also several Hunters in the same hanger and most are flyable.
I hope he has a good man to fly the brutes!!
