Good grief! What is that all about?
Never seen anything like that, other than when the Daily Mail captured a picture of John Derry in the DH110 at F'boro - just as it exploded!

It's a fake!
The "explosion" part is pasted on. It's from the baggage container test that was done on an ex Air France 747 at Bruntingthorpe a couple of years ago.

That's actually a Air Canada 747-100 crashed landed at the Hong Kong Kai Tak Airport on April 1st, 2001.

I have a 700Kb size .mov file of the controlled explosion which I can email to anyone interested...
As mentioned above, this is the source of the photo in the first post.

Check out http://www.aviationpics.com/test/test.htm and page down to the next to the last picture on the page and I think you'll agree that this is where the important part of this photo came from.

yes, your correct rogaine,
the give away clue's are the dirty streaks
downwards in line with the window panels,
from long term parking storage,
it's the bomb test 74 at Bruntingthorpe
pasted onto Air Canada 74...
I bet Air Canada are not too amused ?
clever pic though,
