I am presently undertaking my JAA ATPL. I have had quite a bad stammer all my life and am curious if there are any other Pilots out there with stammers.. Strangely, and thankfully, I never stammer on the radio!! I would be very interested in knowing how, and if it has affected your flying careers. I look forward very much to your replys...

Have you tried doing a search on this one SEAGULL09? I feel sure I saw a thread on this topic not so long ago, may have been the Medical Forum.
If I remember rightly there were quite a few reassuring posts.
Regards, VFE.
Correction - it was Aircrew Notices!

Yes. I know of one chap. He has just moved company and we are both FO's so I don't know how it affects him in the air.
I guess as long as you can react OK under pressure (ie emergencies) then there should be no problem.
Good luck!!

Yes I knew an ATPL, Captain in an airline who had a stammer, who never stammered on the RT or PA only during face to face communication. Caused him no problems that I was aware of.
