Heard today that TUI is looking to axe its 757 fleet ASAP and get rid of a large number of pilots. If the numbers willing to go aren't reached, a 15% salary cut is to be imposed with BALPAs agreement.
Any truth or a load of nonsense ?

Total tosh!
There is a planned fleet reduction in progress (associated with the full merger of the TOM/FCA fleets which includes all types)

Did appear a little extreme considering the results posted today by the Group but the info did come 2nd hand from a TUI pilot.
Glad it's rubbish. The job market is becoming awash with Boeing drivers after Zoom, XL, Maxjet and Silverjet,

Not been agreed yet as far as I know, if it has been agreed I want to know why I havent had a ballot paper yet.
The airbus's are leaving the fleet well most are, and those folks are joining us on the 73.
They are running a VS(2) a career break and part time options, just to see how many more people they can get and thats not going to come to conclusion till the end of the year I belive.
The fleets are reducing for summer 09 and will be fazed out over the course of the winter, not just 75 but some 76 and the classic 73 if the lessors will have em back.
Im sure that give it a year or two and things will start getting better.:suspect:

Interesting that I met a British TUI crew in a hotel associated with the local Sim training site trying to get their heads around the 737-300 having come off the 'bus - sublime to ridiculous??
