Hi everyone.

I have an interview coming up next month with these guys. Can anyone PLEASE shed some information on the following (Been looking already at other KAL threads and found hardly any relevant info from the B737 guys)

It will be greatly appreciated as MANY people are also heading to Seoul these months for interviews and wish to find out these things..

1-Selection process at ICN(as detailed as possible please)
2-Atmosphere in cockpit for an expat F.O
3-Lifestyle when on duty ie.at the Hyatt, layovers, etc
4-Destinations
5-Average monthly hours
6-Average days off for rest at ICN/layover ports
7-Overall experience, positive, negative, etc.

Hoping to get some relevant information.
Thank you in advance,

;)

This from a Capt's point of view.
Interview in three stages, Sim, Medical and Interview.
Sim is fairly straightforward, at least it was in Jan 2007, usual base check scenario.
Medical is what gets most people as it it thorough. Make sure your cholesterol, BP etc are in good shape. Don't be overweight by toooo much.
Interview no probs, just speak slowly and answer the questions simply.

Training can be a bit of a trial, a bit tedious as you have to do everything the 'Korean' way. Line training is not as bad as everyone would have you think, but no idea what it would be like for an F/O. The LCP's (training Capts) are NOT there to train you... more like bring you up to speed on KAL procedures. Once through the line check, it's a cruisy job.
KAL look after you well, hotels all good, and you'll get to love lunchie!
Everyone at the Hyatt are very friendly and sociable, lots of ok restaurants within few minutes walk of the place.
Average monthly hours for 737, 50ish, but lots of short sectors, so high workload.
I only stayed a year before quitting, but not because of KAL or the contract. I enjoyed the company, and don't have any problem recommending the place to others.
There have been a lot of negative posts on this forum to do with KAL that I flat out don't agree with- you need to speak to guys who are there now to get the real picture.
Good luck!

I look forward for the interview/sim assesment, I just hope the jet lag + nerves dont play a bad role on me!
