Hello. Did anyone hear anything about Whitejets private jet company?
I can't find suitable information on the web.
Thanks in advance!
"Europe's most innovative Private Jet Airline is arriving in Lisbon.
WhiteJets have ordered over $1Bn of aircraft for its European operations; the entire company will be based here in Portugal at our state-of-the-art facilities in Oeiras. We will operate the finest fleet of private jets in the world - you can be part of this."

Hi Ferratini:)
According some rumours they are strongly backed-up by a Mexican Millionaire and some Switzerland Credit/Investors Banks. One of main goals could be dethrone the empire until now ruled by NetJets on the Jet-Sharing Fraction Policy.
Someone said on an Aviation Board that they had already signed a LOI with Bombardier for the acquisition of a vast number of Lears, in a 1 Billion Dollars deal!
They should start flying around the first months of 2009.
WhiteJets (http://www.whitejets.com)
Someone said that they'd already recruited some head personnel from NJE staff around Europe;)

Thanks Janet. That link makes it all SO much clearer:rolleyes:
;) (Just kidding)
An interesting story and one that will be closely watched by many should it materialise. A company looking to break the NJE monopoly? Even among the lower end of the bizjet market it'll be a scrap worth watching.
"based here in Portugal at our state-of-the-art facilities in Oeiras" = 1 km away from NetJets Operations Centre, so recruiting should be easier
"We will operate the finest fleet of private jets in the world" = the only jets left that we can get for 2009 is the unloved L60
"Europe's most innovative Private Jet Airline" = this should be interesting...
I think NJ may feel that they own that accolade
"They should start flying around the first months of 2009" = perfect timing for the downturn

Been digging and now know who is behind this.
Hmmmmmm, I shall watch from a distance with no less interest.

I am presuming that this is the offshoot of White Airways - i.e. the very same Omni / Aero Services group?
...should be very interesting! :ooh:
Flintstone

Not unless the aforementioned financiers are behind that too.
The person brokering the deal is ex-NJE. All the clues were there, I should have guessed.

Is this the Delta Mike venture?
Flintstone
23rd July 2008, 12:00
No, that's another company. Name escapes me. 'We'll Fire You At The Drop Of A Hat Ltd' or something along those lines.
Whitejets (I'm told) is being put together by Smeagol* aka JB.
* Not that one, another one. Not your boyfriend. Gawd this is confusing.:\
Edit. DM's company is TTC.

The only address I got additional to the OPS at Lisbon is an address at Peterborough, UK. According to my sources, located just beside the Travelex building.
Best Regards.

I think NetJets should be more worried about them stealing staff initially. It wont take much to treat your staff better than NetJets.

Zahra,
It's very, very early days for them with no hint of recruitment yet. As far as I know they have neither a single aircraft or AOC plus, do you really want to be a FA on a Lear 60? ;)

But maybe she wants to take a ride in JB's Ferrari :p
Flintstone
23rd July 2008, 23:54
I heard a funny story today about why he got that car but that's dragging the thread off topic.
A thought occurs to me though. DM operating out of Lisboa. JB operating out of Lisboa. It's a small apron down there for the biz-jets, they're bound to meet and I'd love to be a fly on the wall if JB ever gets going. No love lost between those two.

From what I know about JB, I wouldn't give him my dinner money to run a push-bike operation. Who's the mug that's refinancing him?

Go on Flinty old boy do tell the story about the Ferrari, would love to race him in it!! Heeeehee. Just out of interest i get the feeling few will be jumping out of the Netjets Office for whitejets. Is being discussed by people at length and they see it as a risk. Lets face it unless the backer no less than Carlos Slim Helu they could be struggling.

Yes, come on Flinty, tell us about your experience in the Ferrari!
By the by, I believe it was a blue one at that, the ONLY colour if you are going to own a Ferrari is surely Ferrari-red?
Flintstone
24th July 2008, 17:18
Y'see, this is how rumours get distorted. I never said anything about being in a Ferrari.
Back on topic before we get Ducked, anyone have any idea when this new enterprise is getting airborne?

In the meantime, does anyone have any facts about this?
Cabral
24th July 2008, 18:48
So, very few facts and boy, lots of comments on JB. Envy is such a revealing emotion of those who harbour it.
Well here goes.
I hear NJE suddenly is no longer the ten thousand pound gorilla! I also hear that WhiteJets actually did not go after many, if ever seriously any, NJE guys. Apparently being there is not necessarily the best opener to other options as people had thought. Still thats a natural error when you are a monoply....they need to pay now as there other places to go.
2009 start operations and definitely Oeiras. Totally separate from DM though. Somebidy at NJE told me that some of the guys were trying to get an offer into WhoteJets, and if that did not work, then let NJE know that they maust have better conditions to stay on. What a mess...... I guess WhiteJets just wants the best wherever they are.
Lots of finance backing, (yes there are many millionaires/billionaires out there!) and the pick of the best business aviation people from Europe and the States/Canada.
Good fun!

Totally separate from DM though.
We established that back on the first page
I also hear that WhiteJets actually did not go after many, if ever seriously any, NJE guys. Translation: "We tried to poach some staff but they turned us down"
This is great to watch from a distance. Envy? Hardly.

26th July 2008, 11:32
No envy here either. Best people in Aviation? Who decides who the best people are? Would that be people with over inflated opinions of themselves.
Just one question, how much did NJE loose in the first ten years? 200+ million, you need to have a VERY patient Billionaire.

Unless you haven't noticed, White is owned by Omni Aviacao SGPS, who it just happens also operate an ACJ. This ACJ is based at their company Aero Services in LBG. Omni bought Aero Services back in the early 90s, therefore, they have a BIZJet charter outfit already! Check the Aero Services website.
can we actually ascertain whether 'white jets' is from the same stable as Fly White? Fly White is part of Omni/Aero Services, but is JB's outfit also?

G'd afternoon, following these stories with interest.
Just flew outof LPCS yesterday.
As said previously in this threat White and DM are 2 different things.
DM is expecting his first Hawker900XP the end of this August I was told. Let's see...
Intention of DM's company, also a fractional ownership, is not to compete with NJE initially. How long is initially by the way?
That's all I know, enjoy the sun!
( The ramp in Cascais will be to crowded if this is all true! Time to build some more taxiways at least and recognize the almost 6000ft rwy they have there, instead of the 3900+ published in Jepp.)

"Somebody" who used to work for Netjets, but not anymore.
Just don't want to mention any names here.

Thanks N.
Given the two personalities involved this will be interesting. They can both be pretty single minded and each has excellent inside information on the Netjets model so will no doubt be aiming at what they perceive to be a gap in the market rather than going head to head. In fact I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them become vendors* for NJE at some time in the future. All business is good business, no?
*Netjets-speak for companies to whom flights are subbed out.

I heard that NJE put out an injunction to stop any of their staff from being pilfered...how can they do that? Maybe I should see what they are offering :)

If that were true it wouldn't surprise me (that they tried) though it would seem unfair if they got away with it.

Nah. I thought that was Smeagol, you should know given your nick
Joking aside, it all seems a bit silly if its true. Who cares, the more the merrier and the better the offers, the better for everybody.
I am all for more players, as long as they have proper backing. Does anyone know if they have started recruiting?

Say what you like about JB and his 'people skills' but he's as cunning as a sh1thouse rat, very intelligent and has a mind that goes everywhere at Mach 5. I've not heard much about his concierge company other than it's done well. If that's true and he really has secured the backing he claims he may well pull something off.
Unless he wants to lose ops staff at the same rate that NJE do though he'll need to work on his personality or find someone to act as liason between him and his employees. Lots of 'ifs' but he'll be taking this very seriously.

Hmmmm - Whitejets, what a cheap name. Its like people calling their old + 500.000 km Merc, white beauty - also with a personal plate ............ Showing that they really made it !!!
Good for us in this segment of Aviation - Jet Allianze is getting lots of Aircrafts, Vistajet ditto - going through Ibiza recently, the CEO of Vistajet was there, claiming he was the one to offer NJE a serious contender.
ExecuJet are doing fine and just employed new people to source the market for "quality" second hand jets - since they are getting a lot of potential owners for that kind of Aircrafts.
TAG and Jet Aviation are looking for people. PrivatAir are getting more of the Bigger Metal ...................
Bjets - if it ever takes of - but Flinty told us to watch this forum - anybody heard about + 50 Netjets aircraft in India ?
I know about many of the less known operators within GA - is getting more aircraft - point is that, not all segments within Aviation is bleeding.
I can confirm it stands for "Danger Mouse"

My spidey senses tell me that Whitejets might be hoping to become a vendor for Netjets and get some of their sell off flights. Makes sense if you think about it. Insider knowledge, contacts, just around the corner.
If it happens you heard it here first :O

I heard that too which raises an interesting question. IF he has joined Whitejets, putting aside the previous animosity between him and JB, where does this leave his (alleged) continuing position with Netjets?
