All,
If you encounter a problem or anomaly, please can you log the relevant information (time, date, browser, nature of problem, screenshot or text of error message etc.) here.
I know that in some cases that will require saving the error details until the site is accessible again, but any such efforts would be much appreciated.
Thanks

When searching for individual posts made by a specific poster, the link to the specific post often does not bring you to the post, but to the end of the thread. Which is annoying when the thread is 30-40 pages long!

Got the "database error" message most of yesterday.
At the time of this posting, the site is taking a very long time to open. About 15-30sec + "waiting for pprune.org"...

I can. Search for a post by PPRuNe Towers. Then click on his username, drop down menu says "Find more posts by PPRuNe Towers". You then get a list of search results. He currently posted in one thread called "Growing evidence the downturn is upon us", if you click on the link that should bring you directly to his individual post, in this case it starts off with the sentence "Due to the nature of this forum....", it doesn't, it brings you to a seemingly random page.

Everytime I change topic or page, I am told to log in. It means that I get a lot of typing practice but is very infuriating. It only started happening a couple of weeks ago. Have I got a setting wrong or is this something new?

Tried to log onto forum between 10.30 and 11.30 this morning.
Using Firefox had either "server not found", "database error" or "no data found - link is empty".
Using Opera no messages, just a blank page (have been trying Opera to see if it is any good).

All,
Thanks for your reports - I won't respond often, but do rest assured that IB are checking this thread and using it to correlate with their log files to identify when, where and hopefully what the problem is and to fix it.

Further to my last - error message reads:
Line:910
Char: 2
Error:object expected
code:0
URL:http://www.pprune.org/forums/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=13
Happens with 'reply' also, but only in IE
On normal page view it is
line:2121
If I turn off 'display script debugging' I am inundated with apparent script errors????'
EDIT: Appears to be a 'personal problem'.... as this is my laptop and it is ok. HOWEVER I also now have a XML parsing error when I try and start FFox on my desktop. Currently uninstalling FFox 3.0.1 and downloading ie7. Damn these aliens...........
EDIT2: IE7 and a reinstall of FF3 appear to have sorted whatever 'it' was.

Sick of the message Hello limp_leek, it appears that you have not posted on the forums for several weeks. Why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a debate with other members in any one of the forums?
I really do not have anything to contribute but I have to be a member to read things.
I just dumped a post in here so the message goes away for a while.

One thing I've noticed (F/F gives me a running update as to the loading of selected page) is the fact it's displaying "waiting for???" on most occasions this is due to the loading of an advertisement on selected page. Daz

BEagle,
Advice from IB is to clear your cache: they did some major maintenance earlier today, in order to try to speed things up. Prior to that it all went basic low res/low quality, but on my display it is now much betterer :)
Let's just hope it lasts :p

From Canada, it is really getting frustrating. I used to visit several times a day but now with the continuing slowness and waiting for pages to load, I generally just click off and try later. I am sure this is not the only site on the Internet with server problems but this one is really getting tiresome.

All of today and PM yesterday, the reply page didn't fuction. The Font and Size showed blank and none of the accessories worked. It would let me type but it wasn't going anywhere on "submit". It came straight back with the message too short caption.
This was on a MoD computer (not in Firm's time) running Windows NT. I'm assuming that the fault isn't a general Pprune one and something must have changed settings. Clues to the source would be appreciated.
