Hi all,

I have some friends currently learning to use their new computer which is running XP.

I tried to import a file of favourite websites from my WinME installation but looking through WinExplorer/C:/Windows, coudn't find any reference to favourites in the same way as 98/ME. I then ran a search for files and folders listing favourites which found nothing!

Could someone let me know where MS have hidden the favourites folder in XP so I can insert my file. I presume that maybe 2000 will be the same.

Thanks in anticipation.

If it's favourite websites, then surely you'd just use the File|Import option in Internet Explorer?

You will find it in:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Favorites.

You must copy the contents of the favorites folder not the folder itself. I believe it can be found in the same place on Windows 2000.

Superpilot is correct, I could not find it at first and do make sure you copy them as contents not as a folder.
