SriLankan Airlines Management Changes

SriLankan Airlines Senior Manager Flight Operations Captain Milinda Ratnayake has been removed.

And a fresh post given as Head of Cabin crew and Ground handling services.

Finally. Some good news. At least he is away from the pilots now.

Yep, that's right. Its not that difficult as he was an X cabin crew member many years ago. Which unfortunately he had forgotten. But this might bring old memories for him and his wife who was also an X cabin crew. He may handle Ground handling and services and the wife might handle the Cabin crew department. Sought of a family affair.

Pissed too many of his flight ops colleagues. Cant fight many people at the same time too. Its gonna get you one day. :=

The SriLankan Airlines flight Operations policy is that, you could serve in the managemant for only 3 years. However Captain Milinda Ratnayake has served in managemant well over 11 years.

Its a mystery to all the pilots and other staff at SriLankan how Captain Ratnayake servived in management for such a long period.

As he had victimised, harrassed, violated all company policies, violated the law of the land and laws of other countries. Brought great disrepute to the company and discriminated people. Not forgetting being branded a liar by the Civil Aviation Authority of SriLanka. All of which have not been denied by the company. And still he servived.

The brown nose, I suppoes solves the mystery.


And now its interesting to see how he handles this power loss. I don't think TOGA thrust is available now.

I met the man a couple of days ago. Looks totally different. It seems that he wants to avoid all. Poor fella.

I don't think he ever dreamed of a day like this would come by. Should have been more careful of his actions.

Having recently looked up UL´s website with the intention of booking a flight from Sri Lanka to Europe, the sudden dearth of flights suggested to me that there was no airline left to manage at SriLankan.

Well Milinda Rat started his aviation career, being a cabin crew member. Also his beloved wife. I suppose he has not forgotten that section. He might start to dicriminate Rashmore now. Rashmore being a 6 footer.

I was looking for destinations in Europe proper, i.e. on the Continent, where UL used to serve e.g. Amsterdam, Berlin, Milan, Munich, Rome, Zurich. Now there´s only two flights a week shown to FRA v.v. and Paris.

Currently at Srilankan the CP A330 is the acting MFO. The position will be advetised. The company now is following the layed down procedure in filling that position.

This guy Milinda is becoming a threat to aviation in Srilanka. Even though he is not in the flight ops management any more.


Was the reason why many of our pilots left.
Brought great disrepute to the company.
Violated every thing you could think of.
Nearly caused a disaster and was grounded.
Was caught lying
Had a female issue.
Pending court cases against him.I only hope he wont cause the major one. Which infact have been predicted by some pilots years ago.

The former SMFO Captain M Rat has been really sidelined. So much so that he has lost his nerve to fly. The F/O's talk is that, watch this guy and be ready to takeover.

The backing he had is all lost. Very very nervous to fly. Infact few weeks ago as we all know. He dropped the National flag out of the cockpit with the president on board. This was in LHR. To add to the missery a BA 744 ran over it and the captain of the BA flight mentioned it over the radio.

Has been banned from doing presidential flights. But may be nominated to fly the governments opposition leaders. A good chance for the present party to get the others out for good.

May be even taken off the current post he holds. Matter of time.

So for the guys who fly with him. Please be ready to takeover controls. He is all bonkers and has reached his time.

Guys be safe. This is NO joke.
