Just want to correct some misrepresentation by gladiator. SQ has those below.
Equipment choice. Yes
Domicile. SQ has London base
Seniority. yes
Choice of flt. 4 COP a year. Can request more and normally approve.
Command by seniority. By merit but seniority plays a part.
Overtime. 70-85hrs 1.5x. 85-100hrs 4x.
Trading trip. Go for mutual swap
Carrer advancement. Definetely yes. Where do the local capt comes from?
Bonus. Does not dpend on mood. There is a agreed formula. This financial year it's 4.1 minths + 1 month.
Annual increment. 4.2%.

LeGrand do you mean every pilot has the choice of what equipment to fly. Say today you decide you want a change and wish to no longer fly a 744, instead you want to fly a B-777.

Can you go to the office and bid that equipment and get it based on seniority? Another words you decide what eqipment not company. The same with the base. Can any pilot at anytime decide to go and be based in London? The answer is no. The london base pilots are not even employees of SQ.

I stand corrected on overtime and pay raises.

As for career development, I disagree with you on the issue of seniority.

Request trips four times a year? I can trade and and or swap flights from my computer at home four times a day. Four times a year is a joke. Four times a year hardly qualifies.

744 to 777? Of course and it's been done. Just take the 777 pay scale.
Swap is between pilot and does not go through mgmt. No limit on number.
Request COP entitlement is 4 a year. You can still put in more and more often then not is approve.

On career development, as I said, is by merit but seniority do play a part.

I don't think you know what youre talking about le grand. Do you mean I can go to office and ask to move to 744 or other fo can go to office and ask to go from A310 to A340. You are talking rubbish le grand.
You know very well promotion at SIA is based on who you know and if you are good at sakka.
In west terms sakka is brown nose.

A few good men,
I did say move from the B744 to the B777. It's moving down and not up in term of payscale. 2 Capts have done it. I know of some fo who elected to stay in regional fleet due to lifestyle.

le grand you have missed the whole point. Choice of fleet means the pilot decides to go up or down the fleet at his chosing based on seniority. It does not matter if the pay is more or less, the company would not have a say since it is based on seniority. The same goes for basing.

The key word is CHOICE. Having a choice is a great privilege.
