Hi all,
Was wondering couple of questions about MFA:
- is it the only place in M'sia where one can pass CPL and above?
- is it only opened to Malaysian or can Massales attend?
- is it only a full time school or one could attend it as part time?
- any other relevant information (costs, contacts,...)
Many thanks

hi PSO

Haven't seen you around PPrune for quite a while....where have you been hiding yourself??

The answer is yes, they are the only flight school open in Malaysia after the wrapping of MOFAZ flight academy.

It is the only academic place where you can do your CPL and above.

There are no preference between locals and masales, .... naugthy, naugthy.. sensitive issue.

You may choose to do it part time or full time. (at your discretion). Flight operations will program you accordingly.

For more info, call Irene at 06-317 4026 or talk to Capt. Khasav (principal).

I would suggest you to apply for cadet in MAS or SIA.

Yeap. Agreed no more. Apply for a cadet to garantee you will have a job after the course and that will save your $ as well. Also, you would need an ATPL(IR) not a CPL to get a job.

Thanx all for inputs and contacts in MFA.
Actually, have talked to them on the phone but was answered this was only full time...
Anyway, waiting for their brochure...hope this explains it all.
Also, for applying for cadets (heard bad stories for SIA...hey, Smiley!!!), Wouldn't you need to be locals?
Bye guys

Saw in Flight International that MFA are looking for instructors, both ground and flying. Anybody know whats going on there?

I did an AFI course a there in 1997. Does anyone know whether or not Captain Gupta is still there?

Thanks,

RS

Yes, you can do an AFI course at MFA. A rahter good course, I must admit. I cant remember the cost of the course, but it was in the region of $US4000. It comprised of 50 hours of flying, and about the same amount of hours doing ground school. Best thing to do is to call them and ask them directly. About the job guarantee, there isnt one. But, you might be able tp make some arrangements with the Principal of the school. I dont know how approachable he is, but its worth a try.
