Hi all,
Brand new on this board, but not the least interested.
Ok, got a BIG problem to share:
still wondering if it would be better to go for CPL/ATPL in the US or in Australia or anywhere else to be able to work in most of the Asian countries.
I have heard so many things - getting more and more blur...
Anyone has any kind of clue for a desperate wanabe pilot???
Also, do you have some kind of forecasts on pilot hiring in the future?
In the US, I know it is getting hard for companies to find pilots (from UAL to Fedex...).
In Europe, according to words, it seems bit more difficult to get hired.
Soooo, what about Asia???
Many thanks to all of you who can help me sorting this nightmare....
Happy flying!!!

If you are an Asian with citizenship in Asia then the best, sometimes only, option is the cadet pilot program offered by various nation flag carrier. If you are from outside of Asia then it doesn't matter what license you got, only experience counts then.
Good luck

PSO, A US ATP is recognised almost universally, and most certainly by all Asian countries that I can think of.
It would have saved me a few headaches if I'd had one, and probably would have opened more [employment] doors.
Next is the Uk ATPL, however I think you'd find that considerably more expensive.
An Australian licence probably comes in around 3rd position.
Hope this helps you. Email me if you want any more.

Kaptin M and all others
thanx a lot for responding.
Hey Kaptin, what you said is interesting me a lot because the more I discuss with pilots or anybody else in the sector, the more I get different and opposite opinions.
Pls pls, let me know more on your experience and why you claim US ATPL would have been much better for you.
Where are u from, where did you pass your certificates, what r u doing now........???
See, I still have loads of such questions. Pls let me know if you'd have time to share with me on these matters.
I am well decided resigning from my current job but you all know, we do not have a second bullet - this one has to be THE one.
Thanx again n take care
