If you think all MAS pilots are happy...you must be a !!!!!!!!! Yes true, we got some backdated pay but it's pittance compared to the guys who left for KAL and Emirates.

Just compare the guys at KAL taking home roughly RM40000 on a good month and as a First Officer with Emirates taking home roughly RM18000...you must be joking, we're not even close to this scale with all the increments.

I am happy earning more than the grasscutter but I would be stupid to put myself against the scales that the guys at KAL/Emirates earn. That would be setting myself up for dissapointment.

Dead wood, social obligations and being nice are things of the past. it's time to be ruthless, downsize and above all run MAS like a whore house. I hope the optimists are right but I think nothing is gonna change, really. The next bunch of guys in the (mis)management would probably be just as bad. We are still in a fuedal culture. Chairmans and Managers are not selected based on character or abilities but instead on personal relationship to those higher up. Change won't come easy nor quickly. Maybe, after a few more millenias perhaps.
