The week before it was B777 and B744 and a few weeks before that the same advert. What they state ( financially ) is what you get but life in Lyin city and the expat life to be had is well documented on this site.

Perhaps the big bucks and overseas basings on offer at other Asian airlines is starting to take effect??

Not so appealing any more................

The only provident fund in SQ now is what you put away yourself in the Post Office Savings Bank.

Is it a good deal? Well that depends on what you are comparing it with. You have flown with Cathay Pacific so you would be aware of the cultural differences to expect. The salary is stated, as is the other remuneration, so that can be compared to what you are earning now. The only variable is the year's profit sharing and at the moment it is about 4 month's pay.

Singapore is a great place to live, better than Hong Kong (only my opinion), if you can ignore the politics and the occaisional anti-western editorial in the "Dire Staits Times".

You are rated A340 so you won't have to worry about the training bond. The rest is up to you ojay.

Thanks for the info guys.H-K was a difficult place to live in and I always thought Singapore was much more pleasant on a superficial level. My main concern is the lack of pension/provident fund, although as you say the profit share is very good this year. One final question;is the salary at SQ 'incremental'.B/rgds.
