It is inconceivable how management and the various Associations (unions) negotiate Collective Agreements that can cause such disparity between front line employees. For example from the flight operations/ cabin crew division the respective collective agreements allow cabin crew with duty period exceeding 14 hrs to be paid a productivity allowance of 2.5 the normal basic rate; in addition this is on a "flight schedule hour" computation. Whereas the pilots are paid basic rate productivity on an actual flight time scale or flight schedule hour whichever is lesser.
To this end a supervisory cabin crew can earn more than a technical crew. Basically a "trolley Dolly" is considered more valuable than a responsibility entrusted professional.
Maybe it's better to be Tea Crew rather than Tech crew!!
