I have had no luck connecting with Hainan Airlines web site. I am interested about their acquisition of the new 328 jets and working in China.

Terminator, you would be well advised to post your question on Dunnunda & Godzone! In the meantime, check out AHK. Cheers.

Hainan Airlines was looking to recruit foreign pilots last year, but they need permission from the government and I don't know whether this has been resolved yet.
But China has never employed expatriates I think.

Back a few years ago while I was visiting the CAAC in Beijing I got a chance to look at the regs for employing ex-pat pilots. The kicker? It had never been done before and even though the reg exists, doing it the first time will be equivalent in China to a moonshot. The CAAC guy told me that the kicker is that the military owns the airspace in China-- national airlines can fly to most destinations and use much of the airspace, but "foreigners" are restricted to certain airports and airways.

Wow!!!
Does this hold the record for the longest time between posts?? 6 years!! Does go to show how the world has changed. Chinas' booming aviation industry will be relient on expats, where as just 6 years ago it seemed like it might never happen!!
