I am looking to send a car back to Australia after the min 12 months. Does anyone know of a place in Hong Kong where the car can be stored (not a car park) for the 12 months. Thanks

Do you know how much it is to ship a car back to Oz ?
I believe there are rules also, which apply to the age of the car ie. newish cars attract some sort of duty. Curious as may be doing similar in the future.
As to your question, Dragon house, but I think you would have to work there.

I shipped back a VW Passatt a few years ago. From memory the shipping cost was about AUS$ 3,000 for the 20' container and handling charges in Fremantle. We also had to pay 10% of the value of the car (as determined by AUS customs) for import duty. At the time the car was around 8 years old. As I understand the position, the 10% duty applies on all imports irrespective of age. Look up the Aus Customs website which has all the details on import etc. We did it ourselves, but in future I would appoint a shipping agent in Freo to handle all the paperwork at that end. Hope this helps.

Do the research guys as sending a car back to oz these days is actually more expensive in some cases than buying the car in Oz.
If you can get the invoice made for a lower price than what you paid for, that helps when it comes to working out how much you have to pay the ozzie gov.
Also, shipping costs can be really cheap ie drive on drive off or pay a bit more and you can get a container, which varies in price as well.
