Now I have never seen such an inefficient operation. I spend more time paxing and sitting in a Hotel rooms than I do actually what I am employed to do. Can the rostering and crew utilisation get any worse???

And managements reply? "You obviously dont know what you are talking about. Sick leave has gone down, so everyone must be happy with our new rostering practices! We bought the big guns from cx rostering to fix it! "

How long until CC is voted on again do you think? We are about to enter the 2nd quater of '08 and none of the improvments we voted on have been agreed upon, let alone completely implemented, and one might argue that the attacks on COS have hit a disturbing new high since the occupying forces arrived, with probably one that rivals HKRO in the form of dissolving the freighter business and asking the guys on it to resign so they have no rights of protection under UK legislation. Nice. Other than that, business as usual!

Your HKRO comments are not justified as those 81 probably break down into:

those that are hedging their bets, ie giving themselves more time to make a decision on whether to go to CX.

those who have no choice, ie their families and lives are firmly rooted in UK, perhaps they have no desire to expose their children to the filth of HKG (I'm talking air pollution -not Wanchai :ooh:)

those who see a quicker opportunity to get a rating on the 744 before leaving.

There will undoubtedly be some who relish the opportunityto become a Cathay Pacific pilot and learn to fly like a god, but I suspect these are in the minority.

Out of the 81, it appears that only 23 struck out 'resign from KA' and added the suggested wording. A disappointing number and yet again exposes how pathetic we are when standing up to a bullying and aggressive management, even when the legal case was overwhelmingly strong.

JoeB, interestingly your 23 out of 81 interestingly reflects the percentage of FCS guys in the DPA. Might explain the figure. So I dont believe that you can say it reflects how pathetic we are, it reflects how pathetic on average the FCS guys were in supporting the DPA who were negotiating in good faith on their behalf. In biological terms, parasites. They will fit into CX quite nicely, being active non members of the AOA. :hmm: "Divided we fall..."
