Is there any GA activity in Bahrain? If not, how feasible is it to travel to a nearby country (Dubai?) to do some flying? Is the JAA PPL accepted, or is some form of conversion necessary?
All info appreciated!

If you are in Bahrain, you might want to try the Qatar Aeronautical College. It's just a 25 minute flight from BAH and they will let you rent their aircraft once you've been checked out and obtained a validation from the local CAA. They operate several PA 28-181s and PA-34s, mainly to train ab-initio cadets for Qatar Airways and Gulf Air. There is however a PPL division. Let me know if you want details on who to contact.

The college is run by Keith Bainbridge who is the chief instructor and one heck of a nice guy. If you need to get more info you can contact him by e-mail or phone.. .

Thanks! Sounds good. I'm not there yet, a few details to be sorted out but I'm hoping to be heading in the direction of Gulf Air sometime around March/April.
