Since SAS grounded their entire Q400 fleet and said they'd never fly them again, what has happened to all of them? Are they being stored there, returned to Bombardier or sold/leased to someone else?

Any info out there?

One of them will be converted to freighter and operated by Nordflyg (http://www.nordflyg.se)

They are looking for Captains (http://www.flygtorget.se/Platsannonser/Detaljer/?Id=1405) for the DH8D....

From www.svenskaflygbolag.com (http://www.svenskaflygbolag.com):

Q400 till Nord-Flyg (080304)

Det svenska flygbolaget Nord-Flyg kommer
i augusti börja flyga med en Dash Q400.

Flygplanet, som tidigare opererat för
SAS (med registreringen LN-RDQ),
kommer byggas om för fraktflyg.

Planet, med s/n 4008, kommer
vara baserat vid Stockholm/
Skavsta flygplats (Nyköping).

Nord-Flyg flyger idag fraktflyg med
tre Cessna 208 Caravan. Bolaget
flyger även med en Piper PA-31.

Do they realize that there is no such thing as a "Q400" Type Rating? All the DHC-8 models have a common type.

Although you need a difference course to fly the Q400.

True. So, they're advertising for DHC-8 type-rated captains who have had a Q400 short course?

That´s my understanding. But I guess captains with these qualificatons willing to fly cargo in Sweden don´t exactly grow on trees. So should be negotiable.
