Heading to dubai in the coming weeks, any suggestions of venues for the evenings?

Depends what you want!!!

Loud dance club - regular would be Zinc at the Crowne Plaza, or for expensive (good scenery) try Trilogy at the Madinat Jumeirah. Oxygen at Al Bustan Rotana if you want to stay close to the airport.

Good pub - lots of choices but the Double Decker works, or Longs, or the always popular Irish Village.

Others - Scarlett's used to be the place to go, still reasonably busy (Emirates Towers; you can also try karaoke at Harry Ghatto's while you're there). Jimmy Dix at the Movenpick is a decent rock club which also has Indian nights. Rock Bottom can be entertaining.

Rumour has it the bars where everything is for sale are now closed. If that's your thing, try the Metropolitan Hotel...

Upstairs at the York International, Bur Dubai.
No cover if you don't look like you... uh... drive a cab.
You are the center of attention when you walk in the room. Ladies are very social and laugh at all your jokes. Of course, they are all nannies or teachers, just out for the evening for some R+R.
Some try to hold your hand even if you have yours in your pockets! Careful then because when they pull their hand out they may have your phone or wallet in it! If you give them your phone for 10 seconds they will put their number in it for you. It's a fun night once in a long while, and you don't take the come-ons seriously.
Used to be a great, loud, head-banging rock band downstairs but I don't know what happened to them... Rock Spyder I think they were called.
