First of all, AAB is not the chairman of the airline. He is the CEO, which is something totally different.
There indeed has been a radio show, where all people (mostly QATARI) could air their feelings regarding QR. One of the more stringent topics was the Qatarisation.
In Qatar, just like in all other Gulf Countries, there is a huge drive towards putting nationals in key positions. This off course should only be done if you can actually find a Qatari (in our case) who is capable of taking the seat!
In too many cases all over the country, Qataris take key positions without knowing what they are doing. They are only interested in the title, the cell phone and the business card.
Up until now QR was one of the only big companies in this country that did not see this phenomenon happen. The Qatari which are operating in a key position actually are capable of doing what is needed and they do have the necessary qualifications. And honesty dictates me to say that this was mainly the result of the CEO keeping a watchful eye on who was hired in which position.
On the other hand, we have seen some abuse in the other direction lately as well. Some Qatari pilots where chased away or asked to leave for no reason whatsoever. (Remember HaB.). This was mainly the result of other Qatari being busy doing nothing in the offices as well. We all know the CEO can not differentiate very well when taking radical decisions, so he opted to replace most Qatari with other nationalities in management positions.
As far as I can see, this radio show has created a storm in a glass of water. Some waves where created, the CEO was officially asked for an explanation, some ghost measures where taken to divert the attention of the public and now everybody is waiting for the storm to settle.
After this, things will just continue as always…..

On CC meeting CEO stated how all restrictions are there becouse of goverment and not becouse of him and he also told cabin crew that he put some Qatari captian in jail one time becouse of talking aginst him so he wanted to show his power and he put a blame and shame on goverment instead of him self .
Everyone knows that CEO AAB is making Qatari people look bad in eyes of others and many people leave Doha with hate towards Qatari people becouse of him mistreating crew !
Naw new CEO is from Sri Lanka yes whan Salia gets drunk he tals people that he is new CEO .
Bye bye Mr AAB .

Stop picking on the poor little guy. He has suffered more than all of us put together at the hands of Qataris. True story: I heard that as a boy he was bullied and forced to dance as a catamite.
Well it is true that I heard that story.....

So regarding the "qatarisation" .. why they don´t recruit Qatari C.C in that case...??? There is only one problem: not allowed by the Government....:\Off course they don´t want qatari to work as a slave...
So i presume only certain"prestige" position would be allowed for them....
Indeed MR AAB called back some qatari pilots who resigned or were terminated...and give them back their seniority and previous staff number!
Welcome to Qatar airways circus...
