Rumour "flying around" that all staff have recieved 30 days notice. I assume this is a NASTY rumour or it is some sort of legal requirement.
Hope all is well at 2000, as seems a good company. Anybody got any facts?
P.S. whatever happens in the next few months will reverse soon enough as in the long term aviation is expanding. just look at forecast growth figures for traffic densities in 5 years. CEO's need to hold their nerve.

I work for Air 2000 and no such scenario exists. An aircrew ballot on cost savings has been announced after consultations with management. It may well be 30 days to complete and act on that ballot. Some Staff may well have sadly received notice. Probably people at The NCL base which is closing. Still I'm sure your post will have put the fear of god into a lot of people. Well done!

Instead of posting misinformed speculation, especially under titles dramatic enough to get every employees hearts trembling, why not just post a question like 'what exactly is the current state of play at Air2K?'. At least that way you won't be guilty of pi55ing people off and aiding the demise of good peoples careers. Peoples inquisitiveness posted like fact really gets on my tits.

Whilst ICEPACKs post was not fully correct, he is not far off the mark, 30 days ago the Cabin Crew liasion committee were summoned to MAN to be given notice that a 30 day consultation period regarding Cabin Crew and Office staff redunancies and cuts was to commence. This has effectively put all the crew on a 30 days notice, today letters went out to all Cabin Crew some will contain details of the proposed cuts however others will contain notice of redundancy. Nobody yet knows what tomorrows postman will bring, which bases will suffer the most or indeed how many are being made redundant. I may well already be out of a job as I write this. I assume the responses to Icepacks comments have all been made by Flight deck, as you all seem to forget that there is more to AMM outside the F/D door. We as Cabin crew do not have the luxury of a cost cutting ballot, yes we were asked our opinions, and some good suggestions have been put forward, however these suggestions wont change the fact that tomorrow there will be less Cabin Crew on the payroll! Also all Cabin crew are well aware of this so, i cant imagine for 1 min that Icepack has put the fear of god up anybody except of course those guys and girls whos interest stops at the F/D door.

AMMdolly - yes I am flightdeck but not for Air2K. I am also formerly long term cabin crew. My main objection is that when you look through the rumours and news index page you will see a title for this thread that implies a statement that Air2K has sent everyone notice letters when at the time the thread was posted was not the case. So anyone that just skirts through without looking at this now believes this to be the case. However opening up the thread reveals that this is actually a question and not a statement.
My old english teacher used to say to me 'think before you blurt, sonny'. If more people applied that to their titles we would probably get a great deal more accuracy to these 'rumours'.

Wishing all the best to all friends at Air2k.

Much as I sympathise with all cabin crew who are to be made redundant, please do not have a go at flight deck for getting options for ballot. We have a strong union and 2/3rds of the company's pilots are members. For the privilege of having a company council negotiating with the company for us, we pay 1% of our salaries.
BA have a cabin crew union do they not? They also have the best pay rates around.
Why do cabin crew not join a union?
I am not saying it would have saved jobs but it may have meant it would all be dealt with in a much fairer way than what I see happening.
Also, pilots are also being made redundant and a number of captains are to be demoted to First Officer.

Hey guys

Are we not in the Rumours and News section? Is this not a Rumour?

I thought the idea of this section was for it to do 'what it says on the tin'.

I'm sure Ice was't being malicious in his/her posting but I think everyone is getting a little bit over sensitive at the moment. This is obviously a Rumour, whether we like it or not, Ice has just passed it on.

Thanks EP, I was just worried.
Needed the info as had been told by a source that should have been correct.
Glad it wasn't
