Hi everyone,
I am planning to move to Israel within a couple of months and am quite curious about the situation with GA. Unfortunately, my Hebrew skills are virtually nil at this point, and all search for information in English turns up virtually nothing... I am searching first of all for fellow GA pilots in Israel - is anyone here?
Also, could anyone help with a few questions:
- Will I get by in Israeli airspace with English alone (plus a little Hebrew), or am I totally out of luck until I bring my Hebrew to an advanced level?
- What are conversion/validation requirements for JAA licenses?
- I am tentatively planning to settle in Eilat, but this decision will be strongly influenced by the availability of FBOs/flying clubs/flying schools/etc. in the region. Any info? Alternatively, where are major GA centres in Israel?
- What should I be counting on in terms of light aircraft rental (availability and rates)?
Thanks!
