With so much press given to new regional jets (RJ, Canadair etc) are Saab aircraft no longer flavour of the month. There are still a lot of operators out there. Are there and new orders? How did passengers find these, say compared to Dash8Q series?

Not sure if Saab is still producing the S2000 and S340. Could be wrong.

SAAB gave up the 340/2000 manufacturing business quite some years ago, and are now only involved in fighters and the support of the regional props. The 340 sold quite well, but the 2000 never really made despite it's very fine qualities. I belive even Crossair, who are very fond of both types, are now shedding both and going down the avenue of RJs.
SAAB experienced serious financial difficulties some years ago, and apart from abandoning the 340/2000 programme, they sold off the car manufacturing division to General Motors and generally only retained the truck & fighter departments which were/are both profitable.
