SEP Sea Rating

Hi,
I am living in Norway and wanting to attain a SEP Sea rating. I have heard a few things that the rating in Norway is national and therefore you are required to sit a theory exam in Norwegian - can anyone confirm this?
If not, can anyone see any issue with completing a JAR or FAA license abroad and using it here ( presuming i convert in the case of the FAA)....

In regards of doing the SEP sea abroad, it must be JAR. If you have a norwegian cert, you can do a "national" rating. FAA certs and ratings does not comply in Norway.
