Like most things in GF and Bahrain its all talk just to save face.

These guys can't even get the current operation to be profitable without adding more routes. So unless the crown prince is going to fund this (which he won't as it means less for him to spend on his pleasures) then its all talk.

GF had its chance for the past 12 months to firm up a new aircraft order .. now unless it leases no chance of new planes for a few years, especially with BA now ordering new a/c.

There are plenty of dstinations in third and fourth world countries left for us to fly to.

Guys, pls have a look at todays's GDN for GF's future plans.

left_to_first_class
2nd October 2007, 09:27
And why would GF want to fly to CMB?
Its not profitable - ask EY they pulled out of the route even though they don't have to worry about profits.

Its all about saving face.
You can see the Sheikhs and Amirs at the next GCC meeting, bragging about their large fleet orders and all the new sky rise building being built.

C'mon guys...GF shrinking, you bag them. GF's wave schedule, you bag em. GF consolidation plans for future growth, you bag em...New payscale, not enough, you bag em. GF's announcement for growth, you bag them.
Guys guys guys, GF had made every right move possible in order to bring the airline around. Some left, some left happy, others bitterly. The ones who remained are happy to, others continue with their tyraid of negativity and immaturity while a very few are busting their guts trying to run the show.
There's only two female pilots in GF and I bet all of the bitching hadn't been by them, but by you female wannabees. Not only is it bitchy, but downright childish.

Oh and the other thing? You may have noticed the lack of "WE CAN DO IT" catch phrase by BN. That's probably because that was the plan. Now, it's more "WE ARE DOING IT". I look forward for the day when it becomes "WE HAVE DONE IT!!!" Don't you guys want to be a part of that?

Mark my word, this airline will have an impressive show or two in the next coupla years. As for you whinging whining bitches, lalalalalalala, I can't hear you, lalalalalalala...just bugger off.

Just to remind everyone that Sal-e (Sad-e) is a newbie in GF and still bonded so as such has no option to leave the stinking ship. As a result he has become an apologist for Naff and the other corrupt, thieving, lying shower in the pink palace. Just so you know and don't fall for the propaganda he spouts.

Jack,
You're right on one thing, I won't jump bond as some had done. It's a reflection on an individual when they've known very well what they had signed and yet continued on their merry way. What's stopping me from doing that after many others had successful reneged on their bond? A personal choice. Besides, GF had since paid so much better than when I joined. It's all good.
I'll make no secrets in supporting BN. He may well be the best we have seen in a while. Funny when someone who supports a CEO who has made good decisions gets trampled on also and gets accused of being a propaganderer. Nope, no propaganda there Jack. Just observations.
Quite an elitist and condescending point of view there Bombay HF. GF really needs people like that....those who bitch and moan but still hang around.

Zakir,

Do us a favour my friend, run the spell check so that we can understand what you are saying.

Again another Gulf Air toss up with poor language and great ideas that remain under the navel of a cold store keeper when he sees one of your stewardesses coming home at 10 am from another after party.

Chill, the pimps and the hos' ain't going nowhere, err! sorry I meant Gulf
Air!

It does not matter what equipment you get, when you ain't got the people, you ain't got nothing.

It seems that those who want to support their company of choice fall victim to a bit of character assassination from some bitter colleagues. Sad, very sad.

Sal-e, mate relax! If you are going to refer to your fellow pilots as " whinging, whining bitches" and " female wannabees " then you should not complain when you get some "tongue in cheek" stick back. Most pilots in GF have been here a lot longer than you and are going through their third or fourth management re-structure and their second or third fleet announcement. This may explain why many are sceptical. No hard feelings.

Zakir 1, i believe you to be a racist. Your comment about PIA and Biman was thinnly veiled. I have nothing else to say to you.

Gulf Air set to outline new growth strategy By MARK SUMMERS
MANAMA: Gulf Air is preparing to make an announcement about its plans for future growth at next month's Dubai International Air Show.
The airline will outline the purchase or lease plan of new aircraft at the show.
Acting president and chief executive Bjorn Naf revealed that the airline is in talks with Airbus and Boeing and is preparing to unveil fleet details, which could differ from the commitment to an all-Airbus fleet, made by the airline in April.
"We want to go out at Dubai air show with our detailed plans for the fleet and the aircraft," Mr Naf said at a Gulf Air media ghabga.
The announcement could signal a departure from the fleet of 28 Airbus outlined in former chief executive Andre Dose's 'Making Gulf Air Well' turnaround strategy.
"Wait until November to hear," said Mr Naf.
He identified the age of Gulf Air's current fleet as his biggest challenge, saying the airline was looking at the feasibility of either leasing or purchasing new aircraft.
"We are looking at whatever option is available - as you know nowadays lease times for aircraft can be quite long because all the order books worldwide for Airbus, Boeing and other manufacturers are full. So we are looking at economic feasibility of it," he added.
Mr Naf said the thinking had changed since April.
"One thing is important and is maybe a reason why things have changed since April - we are aligning the development of Gulf Air with the development of the kingdom," he said.
"We are looking at what the EDB is doing, what the economy is doing, what the growth plan or the strategy for the next couple of years is, and what the strategy of Mumtalakat is.
"In April the announcement was 'Gulf Air is going down and the economy is going up'."
"That did not fit. What we have changed now is that yes we shrink into profitability - but then we have to basically catch up and start growing in line with the economy of Bahrain.
"We are still working on a budget to develop the fleet over the coming years."
Mr Naf also said Gulf Air's strategy has been "modified to move forward" and that he hoped the airline would be clear of the financial scandals which have recently dogged it within six months.
"We hope that within six months that we have identified everybody and all these people are out," he said.
"We have Kroll (the UK-based forensic auditor called in earlier in the year), we have an integrity taskforce, we have an internal audit team which are looking at how decisions were made, how contracts were given, and where things were not done right then people will be judged for that."
Mr Naf also conceded he had had disagreements with former Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) chief executive Graham Keddie before the latter's departure from the company last month, but emphasised his desire for a mutally beneficial relationship.
"We own 30 per cent of BAS. We are with them.
"Gulf Air needs an environment where we can operate. BAS is basically one of the suppliers of services and we need them today.
"Why should we fight when we can make it happen together?
"We need them to deliver to our expectations," he said.
Dubai International Airshow will be held from November 11 to 15.

Brassbutt,
Where do i find the spell check button? Just kidding,Good luck with your English test and i hope you will pass and by the way spell check is for clerks and not for us if you do not understand my post it is your bad luck.
Do not waste all your time checking for correct spelling in the CDL because you have to maintain your OTP and also you have only min rest in Golden Toilet in MCT.

Sal-e, buddy, i am with you and forget about these spelling checkers as i said they have got nothing else to do in Bah as JJ,s and BJ,s are closed for the month of Ramadan.

Bombay HF, how can i be a racist when Brassbutt has already accused me of not posting in Queen's English?
Juhu Flying club is also looking for some PPL Instructors to train some rich kids from Pali Hill ,Bandra .
BHF, there is nothing wrong working with PK and BG and i have heard from a very good source that they pay better than GF and you get to stay at the Sonar Gaon Hotel in Dac and Avary Tower in KHI.
