Ok guys and Gals, we are participating in this, this year and would love to know from the horses mouth what you would like to get in the boxes.

For those who have no idea what I am talking about:

http://www.supportoursoldiers.co.uk/

Shoeboxes filled with goodies are sent to our guys and girls who are serving in parts of the world where they are needed.

We have been asked to fill shoe boxes to send to those servingaway from the UK shores.

But what would you guys really like to receive as a present? We have all thought of the normal things, eg mini Christmas puds, food etc but is there something that would make the day away from your loved ones special.

Any ideas please either pm me or post them on here.

This is a genuine request, so please, as much as I am sure Danny would love the usual back chat that gets posted and the funnies, serious answers would be very much appreciated.

Thank you one and all

Hi Lottiloo,
Thanks for your efforts :ok:. I received one of the fine boxes :D somewhere in the southern oceanic area a couple of crimbo's ago :yuk:.
The contents are fine, maybe add a pack of cards in 50% of the boxes to enable unelectrified entertainment. A postcard with prepaid postage back to the UK, notwithstanding the 'free' blueys and e-bluey system.
That they arrive at all is a bonus and reduces the perception of being out of sight and mind over the festive period.
Keep up the most excellent work,
Regards,
L1

Just chipped in for a few boxes. Hope they bring some much needed cheer. Despite the rubbish you may read in the press a lot of us civilians have the highest regard for our service men and women who do a damn good job in very difficult circumstances. Thank you all.

where are you based??
i was sending (with help from brize!!) tri-walls of stuff out to the troops via confiscated items at my local airport... all above board i may hasten to add... it only stopped cause the 'grown-ups' at the airport stopped the wife bringing it home...

anyway........ i have still have a box of stuff in the MIL's garage that you could use??
IIRC it mainly contains suncreams, but possibly has a few othwer items like shower gel, deodrants etc...

let me know if you're local.. i see that you have an address for bingley, yorks on your site??? i'm in manchester so wouldn't be a problem if you are that close...

johno617tonka - No where near me unfortunately, but thank you anyway.

There must be a collection near EGCC. the web site I posted, should be able to help. I'm sure sun cream is high on the list, after talking to a trooper, who recently told me now the camouflage paint has factor 30 in it for added protection.
