I have just been on the phone to Cyprus where Roni's friend is looking after things for her (everything's OK there Ron). She tells me that Roni appreciates the messages of condolence being sent, please keep them coming, in memory of a great guy.

What a terrible shock, Moira and I are very sad and are thinking of Roni at this difficult time. Rad was a good mate for over 20 years, always had time for us and was always such a really good person. He will be sorely missed by so many.

My sincere condolences to Roni, family and friends.
On a number of occasions I worked with Rad both in the aircraft and the simulator. Professionally, Rad could only be admired and respected as a pilot, trainer, and checker. After hours he was good company.
At all times he was a GOOD BLOKE.

Though you are a stranger to me, I seem to know you. Others had painted your image in my mind's eye, and it is all good...a rare type that comes across once or twice. We will meet one day, Rad, and if it is as they say, I'm sure we'll be good friends. Godspeed on that last journey.
Roni and family, may the good Lord bless you, keep you and comfort you.

There seems to be some confusion over the information received from
Mach 084 re condolence messages for Rad.
Roni is more than happy to receive messages of condolence from those
who wish to do so, as she says this is the best way of communicating with her. She never asked that messages in memory of Rad should be stopped.
I have been dealing with all the paperwork involved on her behalf and as you can imagine this is no easy task with authorities here and Ramadan.
Just to remind those who can or wish to attend that the Memorial Service for Rad will be held at St. Christopher's Cathedral in Manama at 1530
on Wednesday 19 September.
Please keep your messages coming in as Roni DOES appreciate the kindness you have all shown during this very sad time.

I recieved a telephone call the evening our colleague passed away requesting that posts on Pprune or otherwise be "discontinued" UFN....so hence my request ( that was rudely ignored)...so if it has changed...maybe we are not all aware of the change:hmm:

I just learned of the passing of Captain Gammage. I had the priviledge of flying with him on the 767, many years ago.
My souvenir is one of a superb pilot, and more importantly, of a true gentleman.
His life should be celebrated, God has certainly welcomed him to heaven.
My very sincere condolescence to his loved ones and numerous friends.

1)Any further information on the GF plans for financial assistence from Rads friends and GF staff that Gf management was planing for Rads medical expenses not covered by GF staff medical insurance?
2)Any inquiry going on as to why it took GF and their insurance company over a month to get Rad stretchered back to Bahrain for proper rehab and nursing?
3) Has the GF medical scheme now been upgraded to include Casevac flight expenses for crews to avoid a repeat in future of the extensive delays that Rad experianced?

GF should wake up here. I am leaving but if I was staying I would be buying insurance from an international provider to ensure my family was safe.
This is a wake up call for everyone because the policy GF currently has is all but useless.
But then that has been typical of GF hasn't it!!

I heard second hand shortly after Rad's passing, that BN stated that something must be done to make sure this never happens again; I have not heard anything further, either second or first hand.

Hi
My family used to live in Bahrain in the late 70's/early 80's and knew Radstone Gammage. My dad was trying to find out what happened to him and I came across this forum when helping him to see that he had sadly died.
Is there a way of contacting Ronnie as my parents would like to pass on their condolences to her?
My parents are Brian and Helen Atkinson and they can be contacted via my e-mail on
[email protected]
Thanks
