Homer,

When you say low hrs, what sort of mix do you have?

One problem is the two crew certified tubs need a minimum for hull liability insurance, with Flexjet or Netjet, in the region of 1500 with 500ME/MC but you may find some CE operators with single crew a/c will accept less.
Have you got an FAA ticket as well? this will increase your chances manifold, as most BJs are on Cayman or US redg.
Good Luck.

Can anyone tell me if there are any companies looking for crew in the next few months? I unfortunately have low hours but like most, I will fly for food and work for peanuts to get my first job...

Any ideas...

Hi Avenger,

Sorry to butt in Homer, but do you know if a Canadian licence works with Cayman/Carribean reg aircraft?

Avenger,

I will soon have around 300 hours of which 100 will be multi time. I have a JAA CPL/IR Frozen ATPL with UK theory exams. I was looking to get an FAA ATP Licence but not sure of the requirements to convert a JAA to FAA ATP, does anyone know? I think like you say it would give me more scope for movement as especially in the UK most is VP or N registered.

Thanks,
Homer

Homer,

There is a previous thread on the conversion, but contact WWW.faa.co.uk for info or Jim Powell at [email protected].

You will need to do two ground exams- IR and commercial, some revision flight and two flight tests.
Ground can be done in the UK at FAA approved centres, flight test best done in US, although there is a guy in Europe who can do it.
Best of Luck

Homer,
I dont know how much credit you get for having a JAA licence (not much Im afraid).

In order to get the FAA ATP you need at least 1500 hrs (there is no frozen ATP)and I think you also need >500 of those to be x-country and >250 PIC.

have a look at:

Good luck!
