I'm interested in finding out what it is like working in the corporate environment. What are the differences from working for an airline, such as whether flight planning (routes) are completed by the pilots etc etc.

Generally speaking, the very large corporate flight departments have dispatchers/flight planners who file flight plans and make other arrangements for the crews, such as hotels, cars, landing clearances, etc. Other corporate flight departments use outside vendors for international flights, such as Universal Weather or Jeppesen. Other flight departments have their crews do most flight planning, with the exception of international flights. That flight planning is done by Universal Weather, etc.

On Gaz,
I currently work for a meduim sized corporate dept based in the UK/Middle East.Check 6 is right we do the lot, Flight Plans, Overflight Clearances, Downroute handling, Hotels etc.
I must add it keeps you on your toes and is great fun. If we are flying to some hole in the world, we would probably get Universal in the USA to organise the handling, just saves us from getting local dosh and maybe getting ripped off.
