Single Engine Charter Ops in Europe?

Is it only the UK that doesn't allow single engine passenger charter flights or does it apply to the rest of Europe?

It applies to most JAA countries I'm afraid.

Scandinavia has approved cargo operations. Switzerland and France has approved SE commercial; they make the PC12 and TBM you know....

Perhaps someone else is more well informed. But there is a Notice of proposed Amendment, NPA, but I think there is along way to go still. The last 4 years I've heard it was just about to be approved by JAR and added to JAR-OPS. But nothing has happended...

Thanks for the info, it just seems a really strange one, I'm sure lots of people would rather fly on a TBM etc compared to a 20yr old PA31.

I've done a great deal of PC12 and PA31 - no doubt which one I'll choose, even with an engine failure.
But it's a mental barrier for many; single engine and commercial. Eventually things will change - but it takes time.

France has approved SE commercial for passengers only for VFR operations,
Yes we make TBM but our aviation administration is still behind, nothing change!:=
So, LX company are doing good job in France!

As far as I understand it, single-engined charter ops for pax and cargo are approved in the UK in VFR conditions only. (Certainly cargo is ok.)

This means aircraft like the C208 and the PC-12 can fly during daylight hours in good weather.

The LX- SE ops has no AOC. It's private.

EASA has other things to do right now, don't expect commercial air transport with SE acft for the next 3 or 4 years.

Indeed JetFly operates private flights, customers have to by a share. So no AOC involved there.

Nonetheless, SE ops in Europe won't wait 3 or 4 years before taking place according to this...
