Hello hello!
Can someone please help?
I've been trying to send my application to Netjets Europe and it seems impossible to submit anything to them:confused: I got an automatic generated message that says 'thank you for your interest in Netjets etc etc'. I did call them, in Portugal, have been told that yes they are recruiting at the moment, and that I should keep on trying to send my application until their system accept it:hmm:.
Is there anybody in the same situation? I do not know what to do apart sending again and again and again my application:bored:
Any idea? Anyone?
Bye! Bye!;)

Hello Mike.
I spoke with someone from the human ressource department, and that was yesterday...:hmm:
In 2006 when I first sent my application, the recruitment department told me to reapply in Jan 2007 onwards...:hmm:
Are they always giving wrong informations?:suspect:
Thank you anyway I will still keep on trying and trying and trying!
Bye!;)

Hey everyone, I am very fortunate to have an interview coming up for a VVIP position as cabin crew. But what I am curious about is what sort of things can I expect at the interview (really this is something that I haven't thought about before with 15 years commercial experience).

If anyone can help me with info on rostering (would I get one?)
How much notice on a call out?
Is it possible to commute from another country?
Is it usually a set salary or would flight pay be added too?
Do you get chance to have crew rest on long flights?

Of couse I will ask these questions in my interview but as they say, forewarned is forearmed!

Thanks in anticipation and happy flying.

Congratulations on getting interview ,I have a great deal of experience and more than happy to help but its best as PPM so please contact me this way, cheers!

Why is it best by PM?! If we all shared our tips and advice in that way, this place would be decidedly dull and somewhat pointless.

Please, let others benefit from your wisdom. That is, afterall, part of what Pprune is about.

Hi Eddy,
So what are PPMs for ?It is difficult enough to get a foot in the door in private aviation and so just took a view that as its impossible to help everyone I would try to assist a couple of deserving cases .In some instances the public arena is not the place for that ,sorry if that does not coincide with your opinion but its aligned with the same decision to use pseudonyms here ,of course you can always ppm me if you like!atb

As long you have more than 5 years experiences in first class service, there wont be any prob, just be yourself, that good enough....

Does anybody have an idea how much does an Amiri Flight Attendant get paid on average monthly.

1) What is the basic salary for Amiri crew and how much is the
perdium?
2) Is Amiri Abu Dhabi better or Amiri Qatar??
3) What the roster like? On call and on stand by the entire month?

Please help!!!!

Thanks

A300Man
5th April 2007, 19:33
No rosters in either. Both permanent standby, but there is "some" visibility of future trips, depending on your seniority at both Airwing and Al Qataria.

"Passengers" (sic) are known to request certain crew on certain trips - fact.

Airwing (Abu Dhabi "Amiri" flight) generally pays more than Al Qataria, however the latter has, surprisingly, more aircraft in their fleet and more overseas trips!!

Qatar Amiri flight presently operates: 2 x Global Challenger aircraft / 1 X A340-200 / 1 x A340-500 / 1 x A330-200 / 1 x A319LR / 1 x A320-232 / one more long range Airbus is on the way. / 1 x A310-300 has recently been loaned to another foreign state.

At Al Qataria, you will be expected to spend at least 4 months flying embedded in the mainline airline operation (i.e. Qatar Airways) depending on your joining seniority and experience.

Hope the above helps in some way.

Hey, It's not much, but a close friend use to work for Madame. It was Paris based, month on, month off. She stayed in the Marriott champs elysee paris when on call, which i'm sure she said the family owns, its sort of like there home away from home.
Flyin for her would be very different then flyin for the late hariri. it could be one month in a hotel room, or one month in sardegna! Or one month in beiruit... usual pay, +100us a day allowence.
last i heard was son may have a 777 BJ.

hope this helps out a tad... prob stuff you already knew!

safe flyin :)

Thanks for posting the reply. So i think again it's based on seniority and who they like. Is it true that Amiri folks prefer blondes and Europeans to fly for them?

Hi,
Firstly, the interview is a very relaxed affair. You will be 1 of many for the interview from all parts of the world.
You wil be on call 24/7 on your month on although the benefits of this will be explained to you at the interview.I must admit it is very good conditions and seems to be a good enviroment to work in.
I do believe the money is good with $150 a day on your month plus basic and basic for your month off.
Good luck to all who have the opportunity to work for this company.

A300Man
6th April 2007, 17:07
No, not neccessarily. "Passengers" all have different preferences, but I would say that solid experience and professionalism is what is preferred, over nationality.

In the case of Qatar, there are a large number of Asians and South Americans working on the Amiri fleet, in addition to Europeans, and I don't recall there being too many blondes!!!!!!!. The No. 1 is Thai, if I am not mistaken.

In the UAE, there is more of a mix. There is also one other Royal operation which prefers all male crew, for example.

Therefore, nationality doesn't seem to be the main driving factor.

OK, thanks for the clarification, much appreciated.
So who is this company recruiting in May/June in London for their 777 based in Paris then? I have an interview with them on May 29 and was hoping it would be Hariri/Saudi Oger, but if their only 777 is up for sale, it's obviously not them (unless they're buying a newer 777)? Anyone knows?

Pretty sure its Air Harrods tho it makes me laugh in the advert as it says previous applicants need not apply- how do you know if you've applied before if they won't tell you who they are!

ROSTERING - depends on how big the operation, but if you're based somewhere it's 24/7 with phone and pager
CALL OUT - yes, how long is a piece of string? if the aircraft if big and the flight ops is small they may not be able to go within a couple of hours but we used to "scramble" in about an hour or so
COMMUTE - No, if you work rotation you are there for that time and at the end they give you a ticket back to your home
SALARY - generally per month, plus per diem daily depending on your location or deal- don't understand what you mean by flight pay it's not a charter
CREW REST - if it's a single operation not really on bigger crew then maybe but not long and not like commercial where you go off to bunk rest for a couple of hours on long sectors, hah those days are gone and look forward to 12 hours flying plus 1.5 before and maybe 1 after to do the washing, +clean up, empty water tanks in cold desitnations, put the plane to bed etc etc
Have a good interview

Hi hoopla,
Don´t know if you are or were flying VVIP on B-777, but if you do have any info on, how many crew are on board, popular destinations, etc... would be nice to know...
And for example, if on your month on duty, when you are based, let´s say in jeddah, london or Paris... must you remain at the hotel room till they call you to fly, or if you do have the phone and pager, can you go out in the city... etc... Do they let you know where you are flying when they call you out?? or it´s a surprise till you get to the plane?? ha ha... any info would be appreciated... Thanks!!!

hoopla
22nd April 2007, 21:54
Are you for real???
VVIP Operations are known to be very "let's get up and go somewhere today.... if they don't like the weather, shopping or done business/ had lunch with friends it's time to go asap!!!"
Destinations - oh please with a 777 you can go a vvvvv long way and trust me when they want to go from the sandpit to Brazil, here there and everywhere they will. Couldn't tell you how many you'll have on board in your Op, if it's completely private?
You're not chained to a hotel room, but it's not very funny when you've got dry cleaning, laundry put in, gone out for the day or whatever, then when the call to be in the lobby in 40 minutes, got to get back, shower, dress and pack... not to mention get the catering organised.
Most Ops expect you to keep flight arrangements very discreet, so how the heck do you think you know when you'll be in London, Paris, Nice, etc??
Duty time is exactly that, if you sit and wait for a week and it's somewhere nice lucky you, but it's not that easy to say what you'll get, so be very open minded and easy going that way you'll love the job
Good luck again

Fleet includes, B777/B767/B777 and 2 BBJ's, maybe even some globals.

Hello french_colibry!
I wish I didn't go for that interview!
First of all, because they don't pay you for your expenses (ticket and hotel),they invite as many people as they can.The interview was only 10 minutes...She said she was going to let me know after 2 weeks...after 1 month I didn't hear from her so I send her an email....and she reply saying that I didn't get the job. I don't mind that as I already have a job on a VIP aircraft, what bothers me is that I spent around 250 euro to go there,I made a big fuss where I work because I wanted to be released one day early to go to the interview, and she didn't even bother to reply to me if I didn't send her the email (she said at the interview that she was going to email in in 2 weeks regardeless that I got the job or not).End of the story:It's a big waste of time.
Do you have any experience or r u working at the moment?

I don't think Kalair is a great company to work for.Don't take me wrong,I am not saying that because I didn't get the job.It was ok for me because I don't mind if after the 1 month trial they were not going to keep me because I am looking for a job on the ground....but for somebody planning on staying long....they are not keeping most of the girls after the 1 month trial. And I don't want to repeat myself but many other companies (Nas,Kingdom,...)are paying for all your expenses to go to the interview. Why do you have to pay so much money for a air ticket,hotel,taxies,...to have an interview for 10 minutes and you have 10% chance to get the job?
I didn't think properly. But the salary is great (I think 3500 pounds, plus business class ticket to fly home).

hi crew vip..... yes.. i believe that they only take male crew but unfortunately don't have the address.
you could try to apply specifically for the sultan's flight via oman air????
It's possible they are in conjunction - Qatar amiri flight like that!
Good luck!

Hariri and Kalair both take boys too!

Kalair are renouned for only giving the one month trial to most applicants as the owner likes to see new faces from time to time.

I haven't posted any recruitment details purely because the position has not been advertised at all. I am not trying to keep the job just for myself, so aplogies for being top secret.
Good luck to all of you who like me wish to step into the private jet set!!

recently I met a pilot who told me that there are plenty of private airlines in UAE offered 1 month on/off roster. AFAIK, there are : airwing (dubai), amiri (abudhabi) but I don't think they offered 1 month on/off.

Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on which companies are best to apply to if you want to be based in the UK, but fancy trying the corporate side of things instead of Airline?
Already have 5 years experience with an airline and want to try someting different.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi girls/guys wannabee's corporate flying

Try doing a search on here, some people have posted before, some pretty good information on corporate flying and who to apply to :-

try people like
Gama Aviation, Farnborough
TAG, Farnborough
JetClub, Farnborough
Jet Aviation, Switzerland
G5Executive, Switzerland
TAG, Switzerland
JetClub, Switzerland
Cirrus Aviation
Comlux Aviation, Switzerland
Netjets Europe, Portugal
BlueSkyCareers.co.uk (World wide recruitement)
JetPersonnell

Salary working conditions
All depends on who/what your working for, is it corporate (ie owner) or is it charter. FTL, unless its charter they dont really exist, but some sort of duty day is involved.

Who's the best, well it all depends on who/what your working for, owner or charter, some cabin crew earn good money, some earn well lets face it a lot better than commercial.

Most of the jobs i'm affraid to say, go to friends of friends of people already doing it, its the nature of the game, very difficult to get into, but once your in you find out loads of other jobs going. Will you find out at interview who you would be flying if its private NOT LIKELY, unless they ask you to do a trial flight, lets face it if it was you, would you want everybody to know what your flying, its private and it stays private.

Experience a lot of companies look for minimum first/business / upper class experience, and ability to cost control as well, its about finding the best catering / equipment at the best price, not all about spending money.

Hope this info helps you girls/guys out, its very difficult to get into, but certainly a fantastic career move from airlines.

All the best in your searches and applications

Regards
FLC

hi there...

me too... joining Al-Khayala soon. Yeah... i heard from a friend's friend that they are a very bad pay master. Myself, i am not sure about them at all. Well, to be honest... i really like the 35days on and 31days rotation. Thats the most attrative of all.

I ve been waiting long to start training... supposed to start training on 1st june. well, more than 2 months now not working and at home doing nothing. I managed to get my visa done only on mid june.(finally!) But now, they are telling me i just need to wait due to some others still on their final stage of processing their visa. As we need to start training in a group.
FYI, my interview with NAS was on March. Yeah few months back. i resigned and left on early may after a month notice.
so if you havent resign, my advice is... get everything together for the visa before resigning. this way, you still get paid from current company and so at least you wont be like me sitting at home and doing nothing except waiting to start training and working.

pink princess
14th July 2007, 20:16

Hello
I'm hoping someone can clarrify a querie regarding NETJET and their conditions.

I've heard from some crew that Netjet based in Saudi have been known to reneg or fall short on their contract of 1 month on 1 month off and often are late in payments. (which are handled by NAS)

Is this correct? Has anyone had an experience with them or know of anyone who has gone through this?

I have put forward my interest with them but just want to be sure I'm doing the right thing.

Thanks for any help out there, Much appreciated!!

Hi!

NetJets is US based and has FAs for Falcon 2000s. NJI is also US based and flies GVs/G-550s and BBJs.

NetJets Europe is in Europe! They are getting a bunch of Falcon 7xs. I don't know what else they fly.

There is a NetJetsME, but I believe (not sure) that they are NOT NetJets, just one or more private charter companies that are contracted by NetJets to fly under their name.

Our best FA (we only have about 30) was just hired by NetJets US. They are VERY picky. I think it is a great job-I know the pilot jobs are great at NetJets.

Good Luck!

PS-My wife applied to be an FA at Air Canada (when she was about 20). She wore a size 6 tall dress, was 5' 10" tall, and weighed 135 lbs. Air Canada told her she weighed too much!!!

For what NetJets Europe flies, see here (http://www.netjetseurope.com/eng/aircraft-types/overview/). The fleets that have FAs start at the Hawker 4000. The taller folks have no problem on the Falcon and bigger but I can't recall the height of the cabin for the Hawker 4000. (It's not in service with us yet)

NetJets after Ryanair? Nothing's impossible but you might have to get another language or more importantly, prove you have VVIP skills and awareness.
If you've done silver service or catering previously then that will be viewed highly.

Hire men? Yes, they have done so in the past. No idea what the current policy is now. Obviously, a language or two never goes astray. French or Russian are particularly useful. You'll need to show that you can work independantly and work with the pilots.

Good luck.

NJ me is a NetJet franchise operated by NAS. NAS have just started a LLC, as well as increased the number of managed corporate aircraft.
The NEme staff contracts are not matched to the other operations contracts.
Yes, they have a reputation of ignoring the written contact, but the so do almost all operations in sandy bottom. From the lowest to the highest.
NJme is not a company I would sellect as to of my list, but then I have done my stint in sandyland.

Hi,

I spoke to them today as their website says they are not recruiting till september. I sent in a CV in august and wanted to see if there was any progress... The lady in recruitment said that they have received enough applications already without the need to recruit anymore, therefore anyone who applied previous to september would be in the system for the current recruitment and would be contacted by phone by the crew office, if they were wanted for interview. So, looks like things are moving, slowly! So hopefully you should hear soon, maybe they were waiting for the next batch of interviews... Good luck!

Unfortunately, I haven't had a phone interview yet... From the conversation I had with them, it sounds like they are going to start phone interviews again shortly, to the crew they are interested in, that applied before september... Thats all I know - But its obviously popular as they had already received enough applications before the start of recruitment date ( she said the website had not been updated yet to reflect this). Of course the industry being what it is, anything could happen!
Good luck to all and fingers crossed x

Hiya all! I was wondering if anyone could please send me some information regarding Kalair? They are recruiting in Sydney in November and I would like to get some background stuff before I go throwing myself at their feet for a job. It doesn't sound that wonderful from what I have gathered off this thread. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Just to advise you that the Kalair job is always only for one month. They have been giving one month "trials" for years. Dont expect to get a full time job from it. Saying that, you get treated well and very well paid for the month.

We need to find a company to provide training for our cabin crew on our Falcon 50 aircraft.
Can anyone point us in the direction of a good training organisation (preferably in the UK) that will cover such items as Safety, First Aid, and food preperation and service -"tricks of the trade" which is specifically aimed at small business jets?
Many thanks.

so am i right in thinking that if i applied for the above job, VVIP one month flying, and got it, I'd only wotk for one month, get paid then never work again?

Does anyone know eher they hold their interviews in London? They're interviewing all this week and I'm about to submit my \cv to aviationjobsearch.com link for their job application. I've never heard about them before but if the pay's good and it's a one month on one month off etc then it sounds good to me. Any other info would be much appreciated, theother threads seem vague about it.

I was given invited for an interview with this outfit a little while back.
I decided not to go because after asking around ( and also searching pprune) I heard that apparently they are quite notorious for offering every one a one month trial then never giving the job. Apparently the owner of the airline likes to see new faces and this is a rather cheeky way of doing it.

hawaiianhosty
12th November 2007, 08:19
yeah it seems cheeky but also, why pay for all the training, as surely they'd need to train SEP, location, first Aid etc to new recruits, give them a uniform then fly for a month then do it all again with new people..what a waste of time and money.

Hi there,

GlobalJet does not have bases for Cabin Crew, other that their headquarters in Geneva, but you can request to be based basically anywhere you like. My guess is that any London airport will do.
You can find their contact information on their website www.globaljetconcept.com (http://www.globaljetconcept.com). Their recruitment center is in Geneva though, so if you get an interview you d have to fly down there.
Hope this helps.
All the best.

For the one month trial there is no training. you are expected to be already trained by whoever you work for.
Whilst on the one month trial basis you wear your own suit as uniform.
The pay is excellent if you don't mind the 'oggling' from the pax and if you can fit the one month into your schedule.... 'cause that'a all you will work - ONE MONTH! Then it's maa'salama (goodbye)
You are there just for a new face to be seen in the cabin. That takes the boredom from the pax of looking continuously at the crew who are there permanently,
Would not even waste my time unless you are off work and have the free time.

hawaiianhosty
12th November 2007, 13:10
yeah i have the free time so really would go for it, but no training!! well, i haven't flown in like 6 years.

Hi Teresad,

NJME will be recruiting in December. You need to apply through the NAS webpage. I have some friends working there and I, myself, was recruited in April, but still on standby to join.

Let me talk to my friends and see whether there is another way to apply.

I'll keep you posted.

Hi Galleyprincess,

I did the interview last year. It is extremely easy. They will gather you in a room and tell you about the Company. Then, they will go one by one giving you a topic and you have to talk about it in front of the rest. The topic could be anything and no time to prepare. They just call your name, you stand up and they'll tell you what they want you to talk about. Just be yourself and be creative. Personal appearance is very important so, dress up!

After that, there is a very relaxed personal interview. The questions are the usual: you tell them about yourself and why you want to work for them.

Good luck! They need lots of people because they're expanding very fast.

:ok:

cacuca
29th November 2007, 11:44
:) Hi again Galleyprincess,

I do not know for sure when I will be starting. I was supposed to do so in Oct/Nov, but there's been a delay on the new aircrafts delivery and, at the moment, they are struggling because they have too much people. I suppose I will not start before Feb'08.

I have a few friends working there and, so far, so good. Because of the excess people, they are now looking for volunteers to stay at home longer.

My friends just started flying but, according to them, it is good. They are ex-Emirates and they are delighted that there are basically no night flights and the workload won't kill you. The layovers are mostly around the Middle East area, but I think, all in all, the job is worth it.

Where do you work now?

Imperial Jet / Jet Air flug, this company is owned by the same people. They will be recruiting soon for cabin crew.

TRAVEL
When positioning two and from a base, the choice of transport would be the cheapest, even if it is via many international European and Middle East countries in the hours of darkness. You will be asked to pay for your own tickets to see if you are gullible to believe you will get the money back and generally told you are positioning to work or home a few hours after chasing ops to see if you really have a booking. Ops or the office staff have been searching for days to find a suitably priced ticket but until the 11th hour are advised they can’t book without the CEO or VP permission, sister/brother team. Neither an answer is forthcoming or CEO/VP available until the afternoon after many missed calls or ignored emails, which leads to the Ops or other office staff begging for you to pay for your own tickets in the end or they get it in the neck for not booking a cheap enough ticket.
You may hear during the interview that staff travel is coming, well so is Father Christmas but we all know he is a fairy tale! So no there has never been or will be interline agreements with any professional airline.

UNIFORM
If you enjoy wearing the cheapest looking tat that can be mustered up on a sewing machine you will be proud. Buttons generally come in a cheap gold colour that rubs off in the heat and if you’re not so lucky it will be given without buttons on the sleeve and two shirts that don’t fit, or crew shoes or trolley bags or a jacket.
There are no trousers for the Russian winter or spare shirts which resemble something worn in a bad strippers lounge.

TRAINING
Might be given if you’re with them long enough but the contract states that a $3000 retainer is held for one year. If you leave before 12 months you must pay them this back, even though the course doesn’t cost this much.

ANNUAL LEAVE
Take the German contract its 28 days holiday but you pay around 40% tax or the other option is take the Lebanese contract and for year one there is no leave allowed but it is tax free. Doesn’t sound too bad? Read on…

If you buy stock for the aircraft, the company won’t give you the money back or pay for calls/internet to speak to the company.
Medical Insurance? No sorry the company won’t give you the money back if your sick/injured at work or cover you if you take the Beirut base.
Benefits? No sorry again there are none
Dry cleaning – No wear the same smelly shirt.
Hotel with security in Saudi – No that is too expensive
Appropriate dress in Saudi – Again too expensive no, that isn’t provided
A work visa in Beirut – no it’s cheaper if they didn’t and the crew can pay for their own on arrival and for the renewal every few days.

The big question… PAY
If you’re lucky you’re paid. They tend not to like paying staff, so you’re never paid on a specific date or given a wage slip. There are then miscellaneous deductions which are a mystery as no one can give a straight answer or you are told that you will be paid and then you check your account to find you are not.

So in all if you like to work for nothing, wear a uniform which isn’t going to keep you warm, take no annual leave or work on aircraft which has missing service items or maintenance issues then Imperial Jet / Jet Air Flug is best to be avoided as it certainly isn’t for the many people taking them to court for failing to pay them.

Hi Galleyprincess,

From what I have been told, Cauca's experience is consistant with what the other F/As experience has been. The interview may change a little since the previous Chief FA just left.

The main website is www.nasaviation.com (http://www.nasaviation.com). Rumor around the resort is that more hiring will take place in Feb. I understand there is some cabin crew that has been hired and is awaiting training (probably in SAV).

Just my personal observation, we have a lot of aircraft on order and the crews are flying fairly steadily. I cannot imagine we would slow down the hiring in the near future.

Hope this helps.

My girlfriend who is working as a senior F/A on 737/767/777 a/c has applied to Netjets about 3 weeks ago.
Automated response.....we'll call you.
As Netjets are going to get quite a few cabin-crew-required planes this year, I assume chances aren't too bad for an F/A who is doing this job since 15 years.

I have an interview coming up in March and expected to pay my ticket to Portugal but no idea if the package is at all attractive (well, in my standards anyways) ???

I don't want to sound cocky or too demanding it's just that I have been in VIP flying industry for couple years and I know there are big differences out there when it comes to F/A salaries.

I think I did my homework and read all the posts but didn't find any feedback on the matter. So guys if anyone has any idea please PM me or even post it here, I think many other candidates will find it VERY helpful.

It's for prince Walid. He just got a new Airbus so needs more crew.. plus few girls resigned recently.. He is desperate for new flight attendants. Used to be a great job but not "too sure" it still is.. especially with the dollar going weak girls didnt get any increase.

You get 2k $ basic, 2k $ bonus (be careful not to get into any trouble.. boss doesnt like naughty girls!hehe and for desert trips approx 1k or 2k more on tips) Thats how it used to be.. not sure if he is still this generous.. but u should make 4k a month at least..

I must admit I was intersted in this job before but wouldnt take it now if they served to me on the silver plate.. But sure there are worse jobs out there! lol

Try either way.. You gonna be stuck in Riyadh all year long but you dont fly much.. just few months a year. It's definitely impressive to put on ur CV if nothing else!

Good luck!

Hi Guys

I was wondering if anybody could help me out here I am working for a corporate flight department in the UK but I really would like to go back to working the Middle East ideally Saudi Arabia or the surrounding areas (yes I know I am bonkers). I had to leave the Mid East for personal reasons at the time but really would like to go back out there.

I would be most grateful if anybody knows of any Corporate/VIP Flight departments looking for an FA or possibly needing an FA in the future if they could point me in the right direction.

I have operated Falcon 900EX, Gulfstream, Hawker 800 XP and some of the larger VIP aircraft I have my abayas and will travel

I know this is a frequently asked question but things change quite quickly out there and as I am led to believe there are quite a fe new aircraft on order for that region of the world so was hoping somebody could give me a nod in the right direction.

Thanks for your help!!
