Dear Fellow Aviators

Can someone tell me if there are any UK based Cessna Caravans/Metro III and with whom are they flying in the UK.

Are Cessnas Caravans/Metro III Certified for a single Pilot use and does the 750 Minimum Hours still count for Insurance and are they allowed to fly in UK airspace.

Any Maintenance Organisations in the UK that Maintain these Aircraft types and any Type rating Centres for these Aircraft anywhere in the UK.

Any help is much appreciated and I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Regards

Two Fairchild Metro 111s were modified to UK CAA Spec in 1988, these were not operated by the Airline, ( which folded before operation), one aircraft, S/N AC692B G-BOJN went to Air Nelson in New Zealand as ZK-NSS, where it later was de-modified back to US spec I believe. The second aircraft AC706B G-BUKA was to remain in the UK and is operated out of Coventry by Atlantic.

The aircraft had a CAA Flight Manual, which specified a 2 pilot crew if I remember correctly.

There were a couple of MROs which held Approvals for Metros, MacAlpine at Luton and Glosair who used to maintain French registered aircraft, but I should think that the only Part 145 MRO Approved now is probably Atlantic.

Hope this is of help,
