Qatar has told Airbus that it will cancel its order for two Airbus A380's unless Airbus agrees to compensation payments for the delayed delivery.
The two QR aircraft will not be delivered until 2010, instead of 2008* as previously committed by Airbus.
Qatar will only reconfirm its order for the A380 if Airbus agrees to the compensation claim. Otherwise, the order will be "terminated".**
* Doha Airport won't be ready to receive the A380 anyway.
** It's well considered within circles that QR doesn't want the A380's anyway.
