Hello Guys

Am never one to start rumours but this is from a very reliable person who tells me that BAC Leasing has found a Buyer/Lessee for 2 of thier Shorts 360, The Buyer is a start Up Cargo Airlines with talks of setting up in London Southend End offering Scheduled Cargo Flights as well as Charter Flights.

There seems to be strong indications that this start up will be making its first revenue flights in the First quater of 2007 and is now in talks with BAC in order to use thier AOC until thiers is issued, can anyone else confirm me this or can they at least comfirm that talks with BAC and another Company are being held with the chance of a new Operator Starting as Id love to Drive a Short its a nice plane to drive and I would also be interested to know what can a young gun with not so many hours expect in terms of pay flying one.

Any info is most welcomed not only by me but obviously other pilots out there and people who want a job, Il be speaking to my friend at the end of the Week as its him who tells me this interesting news and maybe he can tell me more.

Regards
WA

Heehee Yes I know Google, I also knew of Emerald Airways I just didnt know who this Andy person was until yes you guessed it i used google and to my lack of suprise he was the co founder of the airline with his wife.

Now going back to this new supposed Start-up I would like to know wether its good commercial wise to operate these Shorts 360 on a scheduled basis or do you think they will use them on ad hoc or charter basis which is more lucrative.

I cant wait for them as I am looking forward to applying for a driver position which should be great on a short 360.

Dont want to wee wee on anyones parade but........

BAC Leasing do NOT have their own AOC, its probably wise to point out that the are almost wholly owned by Air Contractors, but the SD3-60 is no longer on ACL's AOC and with their own expansion presumably a priority there is no way they would be putting it back on

BAC Express have no connection to BAC Lesing anymore, that entity was sold to private investors, cant imagine BACex letting anyone piggy back on their AOC, especially if they are a competitor, by all accounts their operation is expanding nicely.

This 'rumour' is just that, take it from me WA, most of my posts on this forum tend to be relatively acurate, your info is way off the mark by a good long way I assure you.

Just a final pointer, there is also no TRTO anymore for the SD3-60 in the UK, so i'm not sure just how this new outfit would manage to train anyone, unless they approach their potential Danish competition who dont seem that willing to help anyone out.

Could some of this tie in with the two Aurigny/Titan ATR42s that are going to be based at Southend in the not to distant future?????

Class A et all....

There is no 'news' because this was never 'news' in the first place.

There are a few SD3-60's floating around SEN for TCAS fits and other work a few more due to night runway clousures at their normal bases.

The rumour about ATR's/ATP's/748's/insert 5t cargo aircraft, at SEN is also the fantasy of people who had their AOC revoked altough names mentioned behind a possible ATR operation out of CVT with the ex AWL a/c hold slightly more credence.

I do hope for their sakes if they are getting in bed with a certain individual they dont get any unexpected knocks on the door from HM Evenue and Customs.

So if the sheds are having TCAS fitted who do they belong to as G-SSWC belonged to emerald aviation before they went under?

My contact down at SEN tells me that there is Arab Money Involved in this New Start up and possibly a British Arab involved and business is directed directly to Consumers and not to just commercial Clients.

Should be interesting to see how this will work and most interesting of all is the owner could well be an Arab of some sort which may or may not worry people not be to be honest its about time they started to get into Aviation in This country.

But will keep you posted on anything else I may receive from my mate at SEN.

further to my post on the emerald thread . the break up of the emerald sheds at COV is being carried out by aeroscot a subsidiary of aircontractors/bac express seems to me that they may have plans for some shed spares but not for flying the things any more.also it seems likely that the sheds being stripped are those without TCAS and if my memory serves me right SSWC did have it.
