Well the Gulf News has really outdone itself this time.
The gruesome, graphic and unnecessary photo of the pilot involved in the Emirates Pilot School Cherokee crash in todays paper was disgusting and typifies the standard this paper represents.
Whether it is car crash victims, war victims or in this case aircraft crash victims there is absolutely no need to display this sad and unnecessary loss of life!
Vehicle, bomb blast or aircraft crashes obviously need to be reported, however, the appauling loss of life is obvious without the graphic representation often used by Middle East, and other sub-continent tabloids and media groups.
The fact is, it seems, that people from these regions are de-tuned to this portrayal of human trajedy so I don't see any need to continue publishing it.
If it is used to administer the 'shock and horror' philosophy to reduce car accidents etc. then its failing on a grand scale.
My sincere thoughts to his family and friends on this sad loss.
