Hi,

I'm looking for a free-lance FAA engineer that perhaps works on single engine Cessna Aircraft.

We have an N reg. Cessna P210 which we need working on is there any free lance guys around?

Maintenance is getting really expensive so what I want to do is get my own tools and start up a small shop of my own to work on my own aircraft (i have 2 fixwing aircraft and a H500 helicopter).

Thanks in advance pm me if preferred.

I am in a fairly similar position but only have one A/C

I have looked at this in quite some detail and am almost ready to go ahead. I do know a freelance FAA engineer but the main poing is to get certified myself and get some sort of workshop started.

Are you looking at doing this full time? I found a nice hanger for sale with a 5 acre strip. On the face of it, it looked perfect for a small operation. It went for 90K freehold but I had to let it go. I will not have that sort of cash until after Christmas. Is this the sort of thing you might have gone for?

Where are you based?

I have an A&P / IA and freelance at the weekends.

The A&P is easy to get these days - you need a couple of letters fromowners stating that they need you to get the A&P - visit the FAA @ Heathrow and get the approval to sit the license - buy the study guides and visit the US to sit the exams - I did mine in a week at New York.
