Further to that, is anyone able to provide information on what "reviewed annually" means?
Are there agreed annual increments or does it simply increase in accordance with any pay agreements?
Is that figure of 19,660 dhs/month payable immediately on joining Emirates or is there a lower "training" salary for the period of initial conversion training?
Thanks.

No training salary. You will be paid 19660 pro rata from the day you get on the EK jet to DXB.

Means if they dont like you you will not get the increase or the bonus.
Reviews are also used for cost cutting.
I have many friends in EK and there is no way I would want to be in that airline....................

Anyone who actually works for the airline, and doesn't have an axe to grind for some reason......:ugh:

The annual increment is 3%. However, this is not automatic- they have always paid it but they could decide not to next year for whatever reason. Also, it is usually tied up with the pay rise, so although a 10% pay rise sounds good (remember inflation is well into two figures here) is is actually a 7% payrise plus the 3% annual increment. Hope that makes things clearer for you.

It is possible for an Emirates FO to send children to the ASD? Me and my wife are very excited about joining EK but it seems the ASD cost much money. Sorry i am asking you this in your forum but this is something very important we need to know before i apply for the job
Thanks

Yes it is possible but anything over the EK school limit you will pay yourself. Its just the same as those of us with kids that are boarding. They get the ELTs and the allowance maybe covers a term and a half, the rest you pick up yourself. To all of us, if you can't afford ASD, EK would say what is wrong with the international school etc....

There are no "agreements" of any kind here, merely impositions. The EK Human Resources approach to man management is very much take it or leave it.
Personally I don't have any axe to grind but to work here one does have to have a realistic perspective of ones position. As a EK employee you are a visitor to the UAE under the kind, benevolent sponsorship of the airline and are contracted under the prevailing terms and conditions of the day. These terms and conditions are amended regularly without any consultation or forewarning. It is up to each individual to asses what they are prepared to accept and act accordingly, ie stay or go because complaining about things is gets one nowhere.

Again me. Do you know if EK is a seat holder company at ASD and also do you know if the charge for those seats will be included in the school allowance. Thanks again
