Anyone one know what blairs new Jet will be and when it will enter service. Saw a report in one of the daily's saying that he was due to get 2 second hand aircraft, but no indication of what they would be.

Cheers

In the interest of economy, Blair should support the LCC's and travel by Easyjet or Jet2; failing that charter a Monarch or Thomas Cook 757. I am sure he will enjoy the seat pitch.

Why not Ryanair?

Yes-I forgot about Ryanair as well. Mind you why can't he continue to use one of the Royal Flights Bae146 instead of buying something new. What a waste of money...

Rumours of B777 and BBJ have been heard - no idea where they originated though!

well, the 146 can't hop across the Pond in one go when he fancies a Trip to see his mate Bush.

I'll go for a BD700 Global Express & a B737-800 BBJ

Why not Ryanair?

Why not Ryanair?
TB - "Michael, about Monday's charter, I'll have to cancel, something's cropped up and I'm declaring war on the Friendly Islands. Any chance the taxpayer could have our deposit back?"

MOL - "What part of 'no refund' don't you understand? You are not getting a refund, so f**k off".

I would have to agree, though maybe an A319LR/CJ instead of the BBJ.

How many seats does Mr Abramovic have in his 767-300 ?? Be nice to save a few bob and have a share pool.
What does Mrs A. have the use of these days has he still got the "old" BBJ on the books?
Be lucky

A good suggestion would be to stick President Blair in the back of plane and dump him in the middle of the sea somewhere!! Not that I dislike the man.

Is there anybody who actually likes him?

What is there to like. A Prime minister who thinks he's a president and want to be Emperor of Europe, his emphasis not mine:mad: :ooh:

I thought this forum was about aviation, not politician bashing.

Also, whatever happened to punctuation and literacy??

You answered your own question with the start of your first sentence. :}

Trouble is that by the time President Blair gets his bum onto his state presidential jet, he will have been kicked upstairs to the House of Lords so he will have to ask Gordon very nicely if he can use the jet for his next holiday sorry state visit.

My money is on an A330 with a tanker plus an escort of 4 Eurofighters for his high risk visits to see GWB and the ultra high risk visits to Paris!

No-one really likes poor old Blair do they? However....

....If you consider yourself middle-class and are a home owner, just wait till Brown gets his hands fully on the control column.

As someone famous once said..."You ain't seen nothing yet"....

I really don't know why people have got such a hard on about the UK having some decent aircraft dedicated for VIP use. I reckon that it's only because of our esteemed:yuk: Prime Minister's and the Wide-Mouthed Frog's liking for the trappings of power that has brought the debate up in the first place. this debate has been rumbling on since they came into power in 1997.

But seriously, the UK is a member of G8 and is therefore supposed to be one of the richest countries in the world and our present VIP fleet isn't so much a source of prestige, it is a national embarrassment.

Let's look at what aircraft the Heads of States of the other G8 member countries are flying around in.

USA - Our mate George has got a couple of 747s (C-25) as well as 757s (C-32), Gulfstream 3s and 4s (C-20) and Gulfstream 5s (C-37).

France - An A-340, A310s, A-319s Falcon 50s, Falcon 900s etc.

Russia - Il-96s, Il-62s, Tu-204s etc, etc.

Germany - A-310s and Challengers

Canada - The same

Japan - Some nice shiny 747-400s

Italy - A-319s, Falcon 50s etc.

UK - 38 year old VC-10s, 25 year old 125s and a couple of 22 year old 146s. Either that or chartering civilian aircraft. :O

Doesn't exactly show UK PLC in a good light.
