Can someone please tell me that if I were to fly into mainland USA via Puerto Rico, would I be cleared by immigration in Puerto Rico or once in mainland USA?
Thanks

You should clear US customs and immigration when you land in PR. Puerto Rico is a "possession" of the United States and is therefor US soil. There are no restrictions travelling between the mainland US and PR. BTW, the Puerto Ricans have voted down "statehood" in favor of remaining a "possession" which has economic advantages.
