My best advice, get your FI rating then build up your log book. Difficult to get a job without hours and non type rated.
Good luck

Thanks Asian Frog,
Currently I understand that DCA Malaysia have ruled No Foreign Co-Pilots currently will be approved or given work permits. This is due too so many Graduates from the approved FTO's here. Experienced Captain's are still able too gain work. I also heard a disturbing rumour that current Xpat FO's may not have there WP's renewed. Those who are on long term Contracts will hopefully be OK cos if they still have say 2 years to go after there WP is up for renewal that should be justifiable reason to have WP renewd for 2 more years. Either way when that time comes get a Legal advisor lah, My advice only.
you can try www.airasia.com (http://www.airasia.com) and ask for B733 or A320 time building.I guess u need to pay $$$$$USD and u will be hired.I am sure they will take $$$$$ than the cadet.:D

Aussie Pilot,
With 1000 - 2000 hrs experience, you may apply for S/O with CX or Dragonair. They are looking for more pilots right now as CX just placed an order for 18 B777-300ER + just bought over Dragonair as well (but remain as 2 diff airlines for the next 6 years). Have a look at Fragrant Harbour in this forum for more info.
