It is rumoured from a number of sources that the Whale could be as much as 15 tonnes to heavy. If this is the case and it is not unusual for new aircraft to exceed the projected build weight why have Airbus not gone for a standard fit winglet of about 2 metres length as opposed to the existing winglets. Particularly as the Boeing style winglet is reputed to provide savings of %5 fuel and improved performance?
