Hi,

I am Kanak and i am from india, the land where there is a big boom in aviation.

I am now 17 and i am completing my 12 years studies in school in science stream.

I enrolled with Basair Aviation college australia and if i get class I medical i will be leaving for australia this october for my CPL course.

I really dont know much about aviation but i am sure that its my passion and i am quiet serious about it.

I think i can finish and get my CPL by 1.5 yrs and then i will be 19. I think i can get it with a cost of around AUD 53,000.

My questions are this.

1. Will i get a job with this. If yes what kind of job will i get. What does it take to work with airlines in jet planes like A320's.

2. Can i get a job easily with that qualification in India as india is booming in aviation industry.

3. Also i am not having a fit physique. I weigh 85 kgms and i am 6 ft tall. Will it affect my chances. Is it necessary that pilots have good physique for any reason.

4. Is it good to do the course in australia.

5. In what all factor does it better to have a degree before doing this training.

You'll have to come back to india and convert your licences to indian licences to be able to get a job in india. You should've tried to clear DGCA CPL papers before you leave that makes things a little easier.
Conversion would normally take about 5-6 months. After than get in to the normal job hunting schedule until some airline picks u up
These days airlines are reluctant to hire people into the Jets like B737/A320. So the nearest you can get is into ATRs and Regional Jets. Then after 3 yrs or 1500 hrs in the company you may get a chance to upgrade to jet. But let me remind you .. having a childish dream to fly big jets as soon as possible will not take u very high in this industry.. you need patience.

Try to get a Class1 from india before you leave. Make sure you are fit as per indian medical standards or else you are in big risk of losing a whole lot of money ($53,000 is a huge amount compared to other places where training is much cheaper but BASAIR is a good school)

Airlines usually prefer graduates with CPL over 18 yr old High schoolers. Especially with the high number of people failing during jet training, being a graduate proves to the airline that you are capable of learning technical things well.. But this doesnt mean that you are incapable right now.. you can prove it only after you get a job by all chances.

But is there difference in CASA and DGCA medicals. What are the differences.

How about working in australia. Can we find a job there.

CASA and DGCA are almost same.

Regarding working in AU. u must talk to your flight school regarding that

Australia is flooded with flt inst..it is very difficult to get a job as an inst...

besides the Indian "BOOM" is so huge you dont need to work as an inst you will get a job in India with 250 hrs.

Flying 737/320 is very hard to come by for fresh CPLs you will work on ATR till you get your ATPL (1500hrs)

BE proactive.use the net to get info.dont expect pilots to answer ur one line questions like What is ATR or more specifically what is an ATR.Do a search.dont expect to be spoon fed with all the info.Do a search and it will answer most of your questions.

ATR is a twin prop regional aircraft. If you're really keen, there's a lot of stuff you can read up.

Cant agree more with you.. But Kanak.. u still have time to learn.. why hurry to get a job at 19? Jobs wont run away from good pilots..

Get into a college get a degree and learn more abt aviation!!
