Greetings one and all,

My laptop needs the cmos battery changing and I cannot find it anywhere. Any (serious) suggestions?

Time to google up a service manual methinks. Have done it for a few machines and had success, but not saying that the manuals are available for newer Lappies.

Mind you, there should be a fairly local PC shop/repairer that has a sense of humour or can forward to a dedicated laptop fixer if needs be.

If you can let me know the exact model, I might be able to find something for you if you have no joy.

JG, just check the screws that hold it together after a week or two. They are often made of nylon that stretches slightly to ensure a tight and durable fit, but are meant for a life of only one "screw" (Waiting for the comments) They have possibly lost their elasticity and may work loose.
