Just curious as to what the expected shift allowance(pay) is for the industry standard 12hr shifts(2days/2nights/4off). Speaking to a few friends, it seems to vary from company to company. Anywhere from £2000-£4000 a year. Without naming the company, could you share the amount you guys get a year....

Many Thanks

P.s Not that I think I'm getting shafted, but we get £2000(for airline ops)!

I'll defend Tarek Nor here, it's years since I've seen a company make shift pay allowances. Most companies give you a salary that is all inclusive. They may have a bonus scheme in place, but usually that is performance driven so they have a get out clause, i.e. you didn't perform well enough !!

When I worked at LGW with TV we got no shift allowance.

For the job I do now (comms) with Sussex Police as a civvie, 24/7 coverage, our shift allowance is 20 per cent of our basic pay so we don't have to chase for increase as it goes up with the pay.
